Had a great vacation in Punta Cana! The weather was fabulous, sunny and hot almost 6 days. The beach amazing, white sand and crystal blue. The actual beach front of the resort is very small. The huts are quite cute, but the beach chairs and beach towels are very dirty. Walking around to the other resorts you can see they have bigger beach fronts and more lively – more people playing volleyball and music and having fun. The beach usually died down by 5pm. The pool was clean and had excellent service at the wet bar. The food was horrible, except Dominican night. The Italian restaurant is horrible. It’s worth going to the French and Japanese. The entertainment staff is awesome!!! Karaoke, Beach party and Michael Jackson show are the best nights worth going! They have awesome drinks like Dominican Love, Tropican, Hurricane and many more. The rooms are horrible, they smell moldy and dirty. The pillows, showers, sheets, bed, floors, sinks everything was horrible. The rooms are damp and disgusting. The resort usually died by 11pm, there was no night entertainment. This resort is geared towards couples and older people. The staff in Dominican are amazing!!!!! They are fast, attentive and so lovely.

The beach and Dominican people made this trip excellent, but I would never go to this resort again.

My friend and I traveled November 15-20th to the Majestic Elegance Punta Cana and it was amazing!!! Everyone was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The rooms were clean and the food was great! I can't say enough about the views and the unlimited access to food, drinks and staff. The front desk was very accommodating; I fell violently ill due to my medication on my second night at the resort and my friend was given all of the important information needed in the event we needed to seek emergency medical attention. Our butler (Benny), and Bladamir, another concierge, made our stay so much more enjoyable! They were great and went out of our their way to see to it we had a good time despite my not feeling completely well. We would definitely recommend the Majestic Elegance to our family and friends.

For the price it was a great time. Liked the seafood restaurant at the beach. The elite clubs were nice. The rooms need a little work though. The casino was not worth it, go to the Hard Rock Casino, much better. Liked the steak house (rib eye), Japanese food was good and a lot of fun. The buffet was real nice, better than I expected. Try the omelet station for breakfast.
Reynaldo (swim up bar) was our bartender for the week and he was great!

We just returned from a lovely stay at the Majestic Elegance 11/3-11/9. Before our trip we regularly checked the reviews, so I am hoping this review can be helpful to others. I will start with the good and end with the not so good.

LOCATION- Wonderful! This resort is only about 20 minutes from the airport.
BEACH/GROUNDS-Absolutely beautiful! The beach is breathtaking. Sand is powdery, no rocks or shells. Water is pristine. Perfect gentle breeze all day. The grounds are well kept. Workers are constantly cleaning and keeping everything top notch.
ROOMS-Our room was great. Very spacious. The AC was perfect, never too hot or cold. The housekeeping staff was wonderful. They kept our room spotless and always replenished the towels. You do have to ask for face towels as they are not automatically provided. The view from our balcony was of the surrounding greenery and ocean. Perfect!
POOLS/BALI BEDS-We enjoyed the pools and the bali beds. We never had a hard time finding a spot to lounge or finding towels. Although the towel card policy is a little odd, we never found it to be too much of a burden. Yes, there were pool tiles missing-not a big deal.
FOOD- For the most part, the food is pretty good at this resort. There is a ton of variety, so even the pickiest eater should have satisfactory options. Our favorite restaurant for dinner was the Sea and See by far. We literally ordered everything on the menu and it all was awesome! Try the grilled grouper, salmon croquettes, mahi mahi, shrimp, crab soup and definately the lobster. The Japanese restaurant was also very good, plus entertaining. We enjoyed the French as well. The ambiance was very nice. The steakhouse was just ok. We did not try the Italian for dinner. We did go there for breakfast one day, but the service was painfully slow so we ended up leaving. Flavors was the best for breakfast. They have everything you can imagine to eat. From omelettes, to fresh fruit and smoothies, to baked goods, to crepes and an assortment of breakfast meats. We tried room service once for breakfast and it was good and arrived in about 45 minutes. For lunch we usually ate at Sea and See. The pasta bar was nice and they will make you grilled sandwiches upon request. We also throughly enjoyed the White Nite BBQ on the beach. The food was very good and we danced the night away in the sand. The DJ was great! Although we enjoyed the food, something in the food or water (and we only drank bottled) made 3 of the 4 in our party sick for 4 days. Stomach issues-no fun! As for alcohol, we really enjoyed the Majestics, Sammy Sosa, Miami Vice, MaiTai and Dirty Monkeys. The Mamajuana was gooood!
ENTERTAINMENT-The circus show was good. The Michael Jackson show was really great! Don't miss it.
SERVICE- This area was spotty. It ranged from indifferent to really good. The initial reception was unfriendly. The first thing said to us when we pulled up in our taxi was "do you have your papers", not "welcome" or "hola." I found this very rude. The man at the front desk was abrupt and cold. We were then taken to the Elegance Club area for check in and things improved. Orlando was our butler and he was great. He made our reservations for us at both the French and Japanese restaurants. He also arranged a special bubble bath, complete with rose petals arranged in the shape of a heart, candles everywhere and champagne. It was awesome! He also helped us arrange a special "Happy Anniversary" celebration for the couple we were traveling with. The cake was awesome and Evelin and the other staff at the Sea and See made the occasion memorable. Our friends loved it. Orlando also had the "I Love You" cake delivered to my husband as a surprise from me. It was delicious!
EXCURSIONS- We parasailed and it was really neat. We did the inner tube being pulled by the speedboat...only do this if you have a death wish LOL! I will never make that mistake again.
UPGRADE- Elegance Club was worth the money in my opinion. Plush robes, liquor in room, butler service, exclusive pools/bali beds, gifts in room and access to the club where the internet is included as well as snacks and drinks. (The finger sandwiches are great!)

All in all we had a great trip. We stayed at the Excellence last year and would recommend them over Majestic Elegance.
