We were looking to try some local cuisine after having been at an all-inclusive resort. We didn't want tourist-fare that a lot of places in the colonial zone were offering. Meson de Bari hit the spot!
We enjoyed some great local food; I had creole steak while my wife had chicken sauteed in peppers and onions. Be sure to get the rice and beans as they were fantastic.
The prices were quite reasonable. We each had two beers and our entrees, and I also had a delicious vegetable soup...all for under 40 USD.
The beer is ice-cold, which is perfect after a hot day of exploring the city!
The lighting is a little dim, so if you are going in the evening or just have a hard time seeing, you may want to bring a small light.
