When traveling I like to do an eating schedule where I eat breakfast and then I eat a late lunch/early dinner. When we stopped into Roseau after snorkeling in Scotts Head we had problems because most places were not yet open for dinner. A security guard recommended that we try Old Stone Grill and Bar. I got the jerk shrimp with vegetables as my side, and I loved it. Unfortunately, they got my friends' orders wrong. One asked for the steak cut fish and got a filet. The other asked for jerk sauce and got something else that was OK but not great.
We got a daiquiri (mango) and two rum punches among us. The daiquiri was good, very fresh tasting. The rum punch tasted like it was super concentrated sugar syrup dissolved into rum instead of water. If you are a person who doesn't appreciate sugary alcoholic drinks, then I recommend getting something else. I imagine that if you like really sugary tasting drinks, you would love the punch.
I should point out that I was underwhelmed with the food in Dominica. The fish and sides always tasted fresh and were always cooked well, but the sauces and flavors did not wow me. This impression may color my review.
