“A Must See in Dominica!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

this was one of the most unique snorkelling experiences I've ever had. The bubbles coming up from the rocks were mesmerizing - I spent a lot of time just watching the bubbles make their way up like a glass of champagne. From the entry area, you have to go out and to the left or you will best the best show. a good collection of fish and coral to see as well.

“Tiny Bubbles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

You can see the tiny bubbles where the fumaroles under the seas push air out and there were some fish to see. We missed the cannons :o/

“Don't miss it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

snorkeling in the bubbles at champagne beach was one of the highlights of our trip. it is the most beautiful experience. go to the end of the beach. there is a rock groin going out to see with a post in it. the bubbles are level with the post on the side that you enter the water. they keep changing so go in for a while. it is amazing. lots of good fish too.
the people renting the equipment are very nice and professional. we didnt eat there but the little snack shack looked good.
all in all one of those experiences not to be missed.

“Quite rocky and surf was too great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Due to high surf conditions we could not enter the water to snorkel. Would recommend a snorkling experience by boat if you want to experience the "bubbles".

“Snorkel in the champagne-like bubbles from the volcanic vents of Dominica...an interesting experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

The hot water seeping from the volcanic vents creates small bubbles in the water, hence Champagne beach. The warm water attracts an interesting and wide variety of fish, and turtles...and snorkelers. There are a couple of Spanish canons to be seen on the sea floor, as well.

We took a Champagne reef snorkel tour with Al Diving. It was excellent...well organized from start to finish. Their equipment is good and the communications throughout were excellent. We arrived by boat and avoided the rocky beach.

This is definitely a worth-while activity if you are in the area. But it is not a destination to travel to just for the snorkelling.
