What a person really needs after driving on the harrowing, narrow, steep, and winding roads of Dominica is some tranquility and that is what you get the moment you step into Beau Rive. We were greet by Mark, the owner, and were put immediately at ease by his soft voice and calm demeanor. The building and grounds were so peaceful and quiet and had the light scent of flowers in the air. Fruit trees, Bougainvillea, pineapple plants, and other flowers I didn’t recognize surround the place. Amid the numerous palms and lush growth was the one extra-tall slowly swaying palm tree that seems to express everything – calmness, peace, and the need to slow down and enjoy it all. The swimming pool felt so good after a hike down to the river and the sea. We ate at Beau Rive everyday – why go anywhere else? The food was fantastic and Mark and his staff made sure that you are completely satisfied. I truly believe that, although the building and grounds are beautiful and peaceful, it is Mark and his wife that account for 90% of why people love Beau Rive and have rated it so highly. We were lucky enough to hear his mother play the piano and my husband thoroughly enjoyed playing it as well. This is definitely a place for people seeking a refuge from the speed of modern life and we were very happy that it is reserved for adults (no children under 16.) We highly and enthusiastically recommend it!
