Not sure what I can say about Beau Rive that hasn’t already been said here, but I wanted to add our thoughts about this wonderful hotel. In all the years we’ve been travelling, this has to be our favourite hotel yet – Mark has got the atmosphere just right – comfortable elegance - and we were made to feel like part of a big family with the other guests.

Mark is a tremendous host – nothing is too much trouble, and he is a great source of information about the island and the best places to see (ie all of it!). The staff are lovely (a special thank you to Joe, who was delightful) and the food and drink delicious.

The bedrooms are perfect – spacious, spotless and very comfortable and the main hotel areas are charming. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below as you drop off to sleep is something we will always remember (and hopefully hear again). No need for air conditioning – the ceiling fan and the Atlantic breezes made for perfect sleeping temperatures, and (miracle of miracles) there were hardly any mosquitoes at all.

One tip for those of you going to Dominica – visit the Indigo art gallery near Borne – it is one of the most magical places we have ever been to, and the lunch was extraordinary. Mark will tell you all about it!

In my view, Dominica is the true green jewel of the Caribbean, and Beau Rive is the jewel of Dominica!!! I wept when we left – always a good sign! And we can’t wait to go back.

This is was our second time at Beau Rive. As usual Mark is an excellent host. The property overlooks the ocean in a beautiful location We hiked down to the river and followed it to the ocean. Dominica is a nature island and Beau Rive is a gem.
It was good to play with Millie and Florence (Mark's dogs) as we brought treats for them as well as Puss. We are looking forward to a future visit to see Mark, the dogs and cat.

What can we say; this hotel has raised the bar such that all other hotels since are just disapointing.

The location is amazing. The view from the veranda, the sound of waves crashing on the shore as you sleep, the wild rain forest kept at bay by the beautiful gardens that Mark has carved out of the cliff. It's just stunning.

The rooms are extremely elegant, well decorated and simple. A nice pool is on hand if you feel like unwinding for a couple of days taking it easy.

Finally, and most importantly, the food and hospitality. This is where Beau Rive excells. The meals are served on the large veranda over looking the cliffs and the cove, with the waves crashing, the birds singing and at night, the fireflies buzzing in the trees. The food is delicious; with good vegetarian options if required.

Would definitely recomend coming to Dominica (which is also amazing) and staying in Beau Rive.

My husband and I stayed at Beau Rive in Feb 06 and absolutely loved it. Mark and his staff were amazing. When looking at pictures the other day...I realized I never wrote a review. We loved Dominica as well. The island is wonderful. We went hiking and explored everyday. It was always a pleasure to return to Beau Rive for the tasty and fresh dinner each evening. We also loved the breakfast, the coffee, fruit...really everything. We have told friends about it and they have loved it as well. We hope to return in the future!
