“Worth the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

Beautiful place to stay, the apartments are spacious, clean and confortable.
Staff are kind, they helped us with everything we needed, but as the Beach House isn't an hotel, the reception isn't 24h.
The pool area is nice, the only issue is that between pool and the beach there is a fence blocking the view, so it doesn't seem the hotel is in front of the beach.
The hotel is near to two beach clubs (Cabana and Mambo Beach) where you can spend the day if you pay for the chairs and it might be a problem because they throw a lot of parties and the music is very loud.
NY, the restaurant of the hotel, is perfect! The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly.
Before you go make sure how to get there because there's only one signpost and it is kind of hidden.
I loved and reccomend the place.

We stayed in 4 hotels, on 3 islands, in March 2014, and the Beach House Curacao was by far our favorite. It is a new boutique condo complex located between the Sunspree All-Inclusive and the Cabana Beach Club, on Sea Aquarium/Mambo Beach in the Southern ocean front part of Willemstad. We paid extra for an oceanfront unit. The main room was a spacious open floor plan, with a kitchen, and lounge areas, and then huge sliding glass doors that opened onto a massive balcony, with a dining area and big comfy outdoor chairs. It was obviously decorated by a designer, although the decor wasn't necessarily practical for a long term vacation rental type property ( the furniture was white). The lounge seats were more stylish than comfortable. The view from the balcony overlooked the pool, and beyond that the beach, and beyond that the open sea. The bedrooms were basic, on the back of the unit, which made them quiet and dark. No bathtubs, only showers. But this goes with the water saving policies of Curacao. The staff were very helpful, and able to provide the few little items the unit was lacking. The New York restaurant in the hotel had good food. The Sea Aquarium beach, is a nice stretch of white sand, protected from the choppy sea by a big break water. You can swim in the large, clean protected lagoon, and rent chairs or cabanas from a handful of beach clubs (Mambo, Wet and Wild, Cabana, etc). There is also excellent snorkeling on the outside of the breakwater. Within walking distance there are dozens of restaurants, shops, beach clubs, and the Sea Aquarium. Several evenings of the week, the beach clubs turn into night clubs, and can be noisy if you want complete peace, but the Beach House is far enough removed that we enjoyed the music from our balcony. If you want to go to central Willemstad you will need to catch a ride or take a 30 minute walk. If I had one piece of advice for Curacao, you MUST rent a car and check out the beach coves between Willemstad and Westpunt. And bring snorkel equipment. Westpunt is beautiful, as is Knip beach, Porto Mari, Playa Jeremi, DaaiBooiBaai. We didn't get to them all, but each one is a treasure, especially if you snorkel and sea what is below the water. You can't fully appreciate the beauty of Curacao without venturing away from Willemstad.

We had a great stay in Curacao in part due to where we stayed. This was our first time here and I had a narrowed down the vicinity where we wanted to stay. I'm glad we picked The Beach House.
The complex is about a year old and very European in flavor. Each apartment , as they are called, is very spacious, nicely appointed and has an ocean view. It is a secure complex , parking is behind a locked fence and you need your key to get on the beach and back into the pool area. With only 24 units we appreciated the smallness and personal attention that we were shown. I can't say enough nice things about the staff who we got to know very well for reasons that will become evident.
For the first few days we were a bit out of our element. Back to the European flavor.....we had to ask at the desk for plug adapters (no problem), and each time we went to use one of the appliances we had to find the operating manuals as we were not familiar with how to use any of them. But everything we needed was put together in a book so we just had to read through it. We did relent and get a toaster from the office .
The staff were always so helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and to answer any questions we had, and for the first couple days there were many. We appreciate their patience with us.
The complex itself is beautiful, ocean front with an infinity pool. There was a nice mixture of families, couples and mixed groups while we were there. And we were the only ones there at the time that spoke English as the primary language. I think this was true for most of this area and it made for a more interesting vacation.
No problems getting poolside chairs, umbrellas ( the sun is so hot but the breezes are great) plus there is a restaurant on site that serves lunch and dinner and delicious beverages.
What I liked the most is that there was so much to do within walking distance of our place. There was a small casino at the Sunscape next door (and I mean very small but fun). It is close to the Sea Aquarium and the Blvd which is a fairly new little shopping area of small shops and specialty food places as well as some very nice restaurants.
Just a couple things to be aware of.......the beach area in front of the condos as well as the other residences in that area, are more or less public/ private. In other words, even though you are staying there, you have to pay to use the beach chairs. Or if you aren't staying in the area there is an entrance fee for the beach. Not a bad deal though. For the 'regular' chairs, $3 a day, with a cushion- $5 a day. The nicer the chair the more you pay right up to one of the beachside beds complete with wireless! This is true for all of the different beach areas depending on where you want to spend the day. Someone will come get the money usually soon after you find your spot. Most places have beverage service and some also have food service too.
Another thing to be aware of...........there are a couple nights when the nightlife is pretty loud! Not at The Beach House but at a couple of the beach bars down the way and you know how sound travels across the water! On Sunday and Wednesday evenings the happenings go on until early in the morning so just be prepared.
