“Perfect for my Family!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2014

I had stayed at the Royal Resort in Curacao 10 years back was so happy to come back again!!! Actually even better :) The staff helped make the trip...wether it was a room facing the dolphins everyday so my daughter & mom could enjoy from the Balcony, preordering groceries upon arrival since we had a late flight, making reservations at local restaurants or calling the driver Guido to pick us up & take us wherever we wanted - it was flawless & I thank you all!
The Resort itself is truly a GEM!!!! The pool is lovely to swim all day hang & watch Sunsets in the evening.

My favorite beach, hands down, was Jan Thiel & we rented a covered bed at Papagayo Beach Resort for $20.00US all day!!! The beach was so great for my daughter. No waves, no rocks or seaweed, easy entry...My mom loved relaxing in the shade & our waitress took great care of us. At nighttime we roamed around to the infinity pool & had dinner in the sand...A perfect day!

So many great things to say about the entire island...

Room Tip: All 30-2 bedrooms are amazing...They are all the same. Some have Dolphin show views & some have...

We are wrapping up our second visit to royal aquarium. The one bedroom is big. I love the large porch. We were on the ground floor facing the pool. The beach is wonderful and we can easily go between the resort beach and Mambo beach, which is also very nice. The new boulevard area at mambo beach is really nice with lots of people and families. The water is crystal clear and you can snorkel everywhere. Beach chair rentals, umbrellas, volleyball, and great shops , restaurants and lots of bars. The on site restaurant, Arturo's, has good food, at good prices. Right across the beach and a short swim away is hemingways with food and music. Doesn't 't get better than this. Maid service was very good. They cleaned thoroughly.
Everyone was responsive and courteous.

We really enjoy the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort. It is not small, but it is not large either. The rooms are spacious and well adorned. They have wonderful views of the ocean or the sea aquarium - each are special! The property is well maintained and the staff is quite cordial as well as excellent in their daily functions. Food there is by AGUSTO's Restaurant or the Café inside the Sea Aquarium - both a good value! From coffee and bagels - omelets for breakfast to sandwiches/burgers to wonderful Italian dishes otherwise all quite reasonable and delicious! The drinks are also quite varied and tasty. Have not had to wait in line. A pass for the Sea Aquarium is very reasonably priced!!!! We never tire of the Aquarium and often visit 2-3 times a week. There is a very nice area across the inlet that has great night life and many restaurants that we never fail to visit and just walk until we find a place for diner! Can be a bit pricey, but the food and atmosphere is well worth it in our opinion. Rest assured you will enjoy the experience and the diving and snorking are right outside your room!!! Last visit we saw dolphins and whales from our patio!!!!!

The Royal Sea Aquarium and resort are right next door. Both are a wonderful experience. Johnathan is a great guide, very informative and helpful. The dolphin show is full of love. Snorkeling is pretty good right off the beach which is very convenient as is the restaurant Augustinos which is a good value with a lovely view. This time we rented a car and explored the island more. Shete Boka is magnificient volcanic terraine with dramatic blue currents crashing upon the stark shore. Cas Abou is a Caribbean blue crecent beautiful beach with easy snorkeling, massage and iguana to watch and to eat. You have to pay for the chairs. At Westpunt we snorkeled and ate anazingly good lion fish with a medeteranian view at the old fort now restaurant. Second time in Curacao and it will not be my last.

We just returned from a very nice trip to Curacao. While checking in the front desk staff were very courteous and very helpful. The room that we had was nice and spacious and very clean. The next day we had a chance to look over the rest of the resort. The pool was very nice and the man made beach was nice also. I would like to thank the front desk staff for helping us make dinner reservations and selecting a very nice restaurant for my wife's birthday. A very enjoyable stay.

We just returned from a fabulous trip to Curacao and stayed at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort. We did an exchange through Interval International for a 2 bedroom unit. We contacted them right before we arrived and requested a certain location and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. We were thrilled! This was our second stay at this resort.
We received one of the recently renovated units and it was lovely. The kitchen was all new with granite counters and stainless steel sink and appliances. The bed linens have all been updated too and were great. The bed was so comfortable in the master suite….we slept like babies the whole time. The maid service was great too. They changed our towels each day and took out the garbage and on the mid-week cleaning she was there for a very long time cleaning everything! We always had plenty of clean towels without asking.
We had such a good experience here, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The A/C worked perfect, no bugs anywhere, the balcony is one of the best you will ever find at any timeshare resort. The view was to die for! There were quite a few children this time around but it wasn’t too bad. We ate at Augusto’s one night and it was fine, nothing great. The eggplant parmesan I had was so strange! It was just a pile of minced up eggplant and vegetables with sauce. My husband’s grouper was good. Reasonable prices.
There are quite a few large iguanas here around the pool so be prepared if they freak you out! They are quite friendly. There were a few fun activities at the resort, there was a pool party one night with contests and vendors there. Another day they had a lunch time hot dog BBQ with more prizes. Every day they had happy hour at the pool with $3 drinks. Can’t beat that! No pressure to attend a timeshare meeting.
We snorkeled right in the lagoon at the resort and were pleasantly surprised. The water was crystal clear and calm and we saw everything from squid, parrot fish, French grunts, large schools of blue tang, 3 small barracuda, and lots of others. We snorkeled east under the bridge and saw the sharks through the netting at the aquarium. We went all the way to the inlet but the waves were too big there to go out and see the coral forest that is supposed to be there.
We had a rental car and shopped at a variety of stores. We went to Best Buy which had good prices and also at Vreugdenhil which is a very nice store. They are both 5 minutes away by car. We did a lot of self catering so we bought a lot of groceries.
The only comment we have for the resort is that it would be great if you installed gas barbeques instead of the charcoal ones that are there. We used them 3 nights and they were terrible. After an hour and a half we had to put our chicken in the oven to finish it off. The embers from the charcoal flew all over our feet and burned us because of the wind.
We had good weather the whole time we were there, no rain at all. For more details of our activities, see my trip report on the forum.
We had a wonderful trip and loved our stay at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort!

This was a great place to spend family vacation. We had a 1 bedroom unit and it was perfect for four. You are no more than 25 yards from the ocean and every view is ocean view. Do not be scared off by any poor reviews, we have been all over the Caribbean and this place stands tall. The only issue we did have was with air conditioning. We waited two days for it to be fixed in the Master bedroom. The kids loved the Lagoon for swimming. Zuly, the activities director, was great and the kids loved her. She was always friendly and helpful. Great scuba diving right off resort. The free passes for the Sea Aquarium made it even more cost efficient!

Room Tip: All rooms good.
