“Feeling at home in the junior suite at PM78 Urban Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

We've booked the Junior Suite for a week and we have no regrets that we've booked the suite. Everything was perfect: the location, the hospitality of the owners (David & Cindy) and the apartment itself of course.

The Junior Suite is the smallest of the three apartments (the other two are the City Apartment and the 5* Apartment), that are rented by Urban Oasis.
The suite has all the conveniences you need for a stay in Curaçao: excellent beds, quiet airco and fan, small fridge, warm shower, nice balcony with a view, not noisy, and of course the excellent location.
The owners have put lots of effort in the decoration of the apartment, which gives you a feeling of being at home. Of course the fresh fruit and bottle of prosecco upon arrival made it easier to feel at home!!!

The apartment is located in the upcoming neighborhood Pietermaai, which is part of Unesco's World Heritage List. We've experienced the neighborhood as safe (night and day).
As mentioned the location is excellent, with the famous pontoon bridge, historical Punda & Otrabanda, and the floating fruit market on walking distance (10-15 minutes). The fruit market is the place to buy good fruit and is definitely worth a visit when going out for breakfast!

Although the suite has no kitchen, this is compensated more than enough with the numerous restaurants in the area. Most of the restaurant are on 10-15 minutes walking distance. It's no problem to have dinner at a different restaurant each night. Cindy and David can give suggestions where to eat.
Night life is very various, so there is no need to be bored. Whether you like to go out for a drink, or want to see & hear live music: it's all there! Just check the (weekly) K-Pasa for the things to do at night.

In case you don't have rental car for one or more days, its pretty easy to go to the beach by (mini) bus. It takes less than 15 minutes to get to Mambo Beach, or Wet & Wild. The bus stop is at the opposite of the apartment and buses run very frequent.
In case you want to visit other beaches (and that is the case), a rental car is then very convenient. Cindy can help you with arranging a rental car (value for money, good cars, drop off at the apartment).

In case you like the more quiet beaches, than the east side of the Island is the place to be. Beautiful beaches you don't want to miss, are Grote Knip, Kleine Knip and Cas Abao (our favorite). These are local beaches, however that can be crowded during the weekends (especially on Sunday).

If you have enough of the beaches (for a while), then visiting the Shete Boka National Park (amazing cliffs) and Hofi Pastor (800 year old kapok tree) on the northeast side of the island is a perfect alternative.

We had a very good time on Curaçao, thanks to David & Cindy, the good weather and beautiful beaches :). Definitely a place that I would recommend!

Having visited Curacao in the past and had to drive into Wilemstad this junior suite in the center of the city was what we wanted in our return visit to the island. Cindy and David were both so friendly and would stop to have a wee chat whenever we chanced to meet. Cindy provided all the extras - the fresh fruit and Prosecco when we arrived, the arranging of tours and the suggestions of great places to eat within walking distance - we especially enjoyed the food at Kome. Urban Oasis was close to the downtown area, unique buildings, shops and a small grocery shop .

We took a chance on staying at the 5* apartment instead of an all-inclusive and we can honestly say that it was the best decision we made. Cindy and David were so welcoming and helpful, yet they still gave you your privacy.

The apartment is everything we could have hoped for. The view was simply beautiful and the sound of the water was very soothing, I had my morning coffee on the little patch of sand right by the water every morning.

We originally looked for a three bedroom place since we are a family of five (three teenagers), but when we saw the 5* apartment pictures (that view! the pool!), we really wanted it to work for us, and Cindy helped make it work! She put an extra bed in the one bedroom so we were able put the kids in there.

The apartment is in a great and upcoming location (UNESCO site) with a lot of great shops and things to see and do. We ended up cooking a lot of our own meals, there is a great floating market for fresh produce, but there are fantastic places to eat within minutes (and also next door). We recommend Ginger! just down the street.

We would also suggest renting a car to get around, you can see much more that way, and there are private parking spots at the apartment to keep your rental car secure if you are concerned.

The previous reviews and pictures of the apartment didn't lie about what a great experience there is to be had. We can't wait to go back!

Our stay at the 5* apartment was perfect! As a family of 4 we found the apartment spacious with a perfect layout for living and accenting the phenomenal view. Our trip Dec through New Years was a unique and wonderful celebration to experience!
Fabulous location; easy stroll to Willemstad, restaurants, yet very private and quiet. If you have a rental car, the private off street parking is a huge bonus. Great complete kitchen for cooking in and dining on patio overlooking the pool and ocean. Very private patio and pool.
Owners Cindy and David are very thoughtful and accommodating.
Cheers to gorgeous sunsets and lovely Willemstad,Curacao; a UNESCO site. We highly recommend the 5* apartment!

Room Tip: AC worked well but we used fans. Twin beds together are comfortable. Our young adults didn't...

Hello,
In the Pietermaai 78 you are not a hotelroomnumber. A warm welcome by Cindy, fresh fruit and a bottle of Prosecco.
Very quick assistance when you need information or help.
Whe had the studio app (21 Feb- 5 Mar 2014), clean, everything you need, even a road map, and quiet at night even in this carnavalweek. And very near to Punda (10' nice walk). Even excellent restaurants at Pietermaai such as Papa's next door and Ginger. Cocktails at Mundo Bizarro....
We had our breakfast on our balcony or at the Avila-, Scuba Dive-, St Tropez- or the Carnival hotel.
Don't forget to use your free acces offered by Cindy and David to the pool of the lounge club Saint Tropez at 150m.

Ideal place to stay for couples that want to discover the beautiful Curacao.

We stayed here for two weeks in February. We spent the first week in the Studio Apartment and the second week in the 5* Apartment.

The location is excellent. You couldn't ask for a more central location. You are a 10-15 minute walk from the floating bridge (downtown), 10 minute walk to the Avila Hotel (beach available weekdays), 10 minute walk to the markets, 20 minute walk to a supermarket and if you are really keen, a 45 minute walk to Mambo beach (Seaquarium). We never once felt unsafe walking at night. It was dark when we walked to supper and of course dark when we returned. As a matter of fact there are neighborhood security guards out at night so it really is quite safe. We ate at 18 different restaurants during our stay and all but one were within a 10 minute walk!

We rented a car for one day to go visit the beaches on the north west part of the island. Very beautiful and well worth the trip. Other than that we found plenty to amuse ourselves with in walking distance of PM78.

Cindy and David were very friendly and helpful. If you have any issues they are addressed immediately.

As I said at the beginning week one was in the studio suite. It is small so I couldn't imagine spending 2 weeks in it. Having said that, it is fully functional and has a small fridge for your beer and a coffee machine. There is a nice little sitting area on the front porch over looking the street. A privacy screen separates you from the City apartment. We did a lot of exploring the first week while staying here.

The second week was in the 5* apartment. I really cant add much more to what has already been said in other reviews. The place is very industrial and modern, right up our alley. The views were awesome and the sunsets incredible. We watched the sun set from the small "beach" every night. The place is fully stocked with everything you need to stay and eat in if you so desire.

The a/c in both apartments was very effective and very quiet. The beds are very very firm and as we have encountered in St. Lucia, only have a top sheet to cover you.

If you are considering a stay here, don't hesitate, pull the trigger and book it today, you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: You really have to try out the 5* apartment!

The apartment has everything you need including AC, kitchen with appliances and even umbrellas and a cool box to take on a day trip. It was spacious and clean. We had a warm welcome with chilled wine and fresh fruits that we enjoyed siting at the porch. I would definitely recommend and, the owners were very nice and attentive specially her.
Only thing I didn't like is that their airport pick up service was pricier than a regular taxi. Also, the area is not the safest and we had a minor issue with one passer by in the early evening coming back from a day out, but nothing to worry too much about.
The chill-out bar PM78 is partners with is a great place Ibiza-like, would also recommend.
