“Romantic diner on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Also called "Hooks Hut". Very relaxing (and romantic) place to have diner on the beach. Our table was just 5 feet from the waterside on the sandy beach. Small card, but good choices. Very nice waiters (some locals).
The entrance is difficult to find. The location is at Piscadera Bay next to HILTON.
Good price, good food, good value

“Romantic!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

My husband & I were seated at a table on the beach. Very dimly lit. We were there on reggae night so there was a band playing. A very romantic setting except for the fact that the couple in front of us were getting a little too romantic for a public place. Akward!!! The food & service left a lot to be desired. Food was not cooked as ordered & the meat was poor quality. Service was slow & not attentive. The parking lot & road were not paved. There were puddles & it was very muddy. I thought it was odd since it had not rained that day.

“decent, bring your bathing suit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Pirate Bay was our main dining choice for our first night out. The kids loved the beach but we didnt know it was so informal. We ate to a setting sun, and the beach is incredible. But the food was merely ok, the service was ok, so the experience was 3 stars. Not a huge hit, but if you have the time may be worth a sit down lunch.

“In Curacao You Must Try Pirate Bay (previously Hooks Hut)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Has its own beach, so you can dine with the sound of the surf in the background. Nice menu, great bitten ballen, happy hour is 6-7. I'd recommend the Jamaican Jerk Chicken.

“It is reasonable to relax, drink and snack, not for a meal.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Reasonable appetizers in an informal, unpretencious and quite pleasant beachy atmosphere.

But the food (main dishes) was quite poor and it was not worthwhile to have a dinner there.

The very lazy and sloppy service was the main negative aspect.
