“Aged but still very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

If you want to nitpick, there certainly places to do it. the hotel has some age to it, and being in the carib certainly hasn't helped it.

I really enjoyed the hotel. The food was OK. we ate there several nights. the "indoor" restaurant was only open 1 night, but the Italian and bar were open every night. When something went wrong, they were quick to comp a beer until it was made right.

What makes it good? the pool is very good. it is maintained very well, and cleaned every day. the property itself (grounds) were groomed twice a day, and looked beautiful. The beach was pretty on the sand, although the water portions were pretty small, but very safe for children. And the location!!!! halfway up westpunt (from the city center) makes it east to get around. Yes, you need a car. I couldn't believe how many people went without one. there is a Budget there if you need to rent one, but we rented from the airport.

The staff was overly nice, especially the group in the lounge, and were always willing to help. We got 4 water bottles from the lounge staff daily before we went beaching.

We never felt anything but at home the whole time we were there. No issues with temperature, shower, or linens.

I could easily see me staying here again.

We recently spent a week here at the Hilton in Curacao. Upon checkin our room was not ready and we had to wait about two hours before it was ready. However, our access to the executive lounge made up for the wait. It was in the executive lounge that we first met Kareen! Kareen truly made the difference in our entire stay for the positive. She proved extremely helpful and genuine in her desire to make our stay comfortable and fun. We would stay at the Hilton again just because Kareen works there! We had never met before, yet we left feeling as true friends and very much appreciated her tips on beaches, parking, hotels, restaurants, driving directions and really anything. We could go on and on about Kareen's superb assistance and kind manner. Our room was nice, modern, clean and you can't beat the ocean view. Definitely get an ocean view, and get access to the executive lounge. The continental breakfasts are great in the lounge, along with happy hour each night at 5pm. Nothing was disturbed in our room and we felt safe. The hotel restaurants/food were good and we enjoyed the live music they had every other night. The beach is clean, quiet and relaxing. The snorkeling off the beach was disappointing...simply not much to look at, but the water is clear and nice. The free wi-fi access in the lobby and executive lounge worked just fine. In fact, we could access the lounge wi-fi in our room. This was a trip we took to celebrate our anniversary and the Hilton did not disappoint. We rented a car from the on-site Budget office without a problem. The consierge service was helpful. The hotel-provided beach towels were also very nice and helpful, which we could exchange each day for new, fresh towels. We went next door to the marriott on two occassions to eat, which is also a nice benefit. We began our trip hesitant as to what we might find because you just never know...there are good and bad reviews on everything. The initial wait for our room caused some anxiety, but quickly faded. We would stay here again without a doubt. Thank you.

Room Tip: Ocean view and get access to the executive lounge on the 5th floor.

This was my first time staying at the Hilton Curaçao, but my dad has stayed here often. From a distance it looks average, but the rooms were actually nicer then I expected. Of course they come with their own tiny problems due to the humid life of the caribbean, but nothing too bad. They each had safes, hangers, nice TV's and the works. And the aircon still works even if you don't leave the room key in the slot for the lights, which is super nice! They cleaning staff is super friendly. We had breakfast included in our stay which was also a nice way to start the day. We also got beach towels every day which helped us a lot in nothing having to travel with our own. we kept missing happy hour unfortunately! And their main pool was apparently under construction while we were here but I didn't notice any and the open pool was still nice. The beach swim and snorkel area was great too - lots of pretty sea glass! Overall we had a very nice week long stay at the hilton - everyone was very kind and accommodating.

Room Tip: They are constantly doing tiny upgrades in each room when they are vacant, so you'll just have t...

Hotel was great, even excellent. Then I found out they have caged macaws in the garden. Small cages where they cannot fly (not that any cage is big enough for a macaw). I don't understand people that do that, but when a highly-respected hotel chain does it for all to see, and boast about it (a sign in the cages said the birds are imprisoned there "on an all-included package"), it is to me a very serious matter. Macaws are highly social, intelligent birds, used to fly long distances, and they usually have lifetime partners. This is cruelty, and I didn't expect Hilton to accept it. If the animals cannot for some reason be reinserted in the wild, at least don't show them to visitors as a trophy, as if encouraging these practices.

Stayed at the Hilton for the 4th time in 4 years from Nov28-Dec5, 2014. The renovations are done, but some of the rooms are still a bit tired. We ate at Bligh's Bar a couple of times. In the past, the service was horrible, but we noticed a big difference this year--or maybe it was our server-Haro. He was GREAT! Very fun, very attentive. Executive lounge food and drinks are OK, but Kareen will bend over backwards to make your stay wonderful. She's the best. If Hilton loses her, I'll never go back! Adrianna, I believe she's the front desk manager, is also wonderful. Had a super birthday dinner at Cielos... Sir Norman attended to us and was excellent (as were the free desserts)! Kareen, Haro, Norman and Adrianna all made my birthday extra special and I thank them for that.

I would suggest that if you're not HHonor Member, you consider paying extra to get Executive Lounge access. You'll save a bit of money on food and drinks, and you'll get super service from Kareen. Also... if possible try for a room on the 3rd floor or above on the "short" side with an ocean view. The views are spectacular. Wi-Fi is free if you're diamond (not sure about other HHonor levels) and/or if you're in the Ex Lounge; otherwise you pay. A lot of folks complain that the beach area is too small, but to me the grounds are really interesting with all the different walking paths and nooks and crannies, plus the fort is pretty cool, as are the new piers. And their kiddy pool is fantastic... not that I have kids, but if I were a kid, I'd *love* it.

Yeah, the food at the hotel is expensive (but isn't it always at resort hotels?). We typically hit Pirates Cove 3 or 4 times (lunch/dinner), and there's now a pizza place right beside them. The pizza was fabulous! There used to be an Indonesian restaurant w/i walking distance of the hotel (Temple something or other), but it's closed now, which was a real downer because it was wonderful. We also occasionally eat at the Marriott's pool bar. If possible, it's a good idea to go to a grocery store and pick up a few munchies and beer/wine. There's a big supermarket not far from the Hilton (not walkable though).

We always use Caribbean Sea Sports for diving. Still wonderful, and it was so easy for us with them now at the Hilton. Just roll out of bed and down to the pier. See my other reviews about CCS. We were sorry we missed diving with Troy and/or having Clark as our boat captain. Maybe next time?

Room Tip: 3rd floor and above on the short side with ocean view. Pay extra for Executive Lounge access if you...

Despite the fact that the rooms did have some kind of renovation. It doesn´t have the look and feel of a proper Hilton resort. Cleaning of the rooms should have been much better. I found hair on my bed and pillow, stains on the walls, and my bedside table was sticky. Breakfast was okay but the breakfast area very sober and outdated. The location, the beach and the surrounding areas however are very nice and never felt crowded. The Hilton name gave me much higher expectations of this resort.

We stayed here for our winter break. The property was renovated and our room was beautiful. The front desk staff was very friendly. Where this hotel misses the boat is the food. It's overpriced and frankly awful. They need some fresh fish and fresh tropical salads on the menu! The drinks are weak and also very over priced - $20 for a little Solo cup of pina colada mix with no rum.

Also, the beach is a giant ashtray. They need to do a better job of cleaning the beach area. Someone should be raking up the debris and mostly, the disgusting cigarette butts.

It's a shame really, they are on the right track here with great friendly service and our room was gorgeous.
