“Hato Caves”

Awesome natural spectacle. Sonder was a great guide. The trip through the desert and around the island was filled with amazing sights and learning about the island's history was very illuminating. Loved it.

“Nice Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We've been to caves all over the place so it's tough to really match some stuff, but this was a nice place to visit. The tour guide was good and you could sense the enthusiasm. I'm glad we made this stop on our excursion. Some neat formations inside with some fun myths about them.

“An interesting and good-to-reach attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

The hato caves are located near the airport. The tours into the cave start each full hour, so until it started we walked along the Indian path where you can see typical trees, indian rock paintings and lots of geckos. The friendly person at the counter has given us a double-sided sheet with explanations for the sights. Then we had coffee and Coke in the small restaurant. The tour through the cave was very interesting and the entry is quite cheap. The path is paved very well, and the guide told us lots of interesting things about the genesis of the cave and its early inhabitants, The people seem to take care to preserve the cave.

“Beautiful but also broken.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

We went to the caves on our 2nd to last day of our trip. We figured get a cab and it wouldn't last to long then we could do other things. The can drops us off and we get to the little store and they say the lights r broken so it will be 3 hours until the next show. Thing is the caves called all the taxis and told them it was broken so we couldn't get any taxis up there until after the show. So we just sat there in the middle of no where with nothing to do. Lovely.
