I was looking for lodging for 5 poeple in curacao and was having major issues finding somethin decent. I needed something large with a kitchen and amenties to keep my two toddlers occupied. I ran into this property and was happy with what I saw but still a lil skeptical.
After a few emails to the owner I decided to go ahead and book an apartment for 6 nights. The owner was very patient with all my questions....and he took his time to explain anything I asked him about the property.
This was not that difficult, but having the ability to take credit card payments could make it alot convinient for guests. HSH takes money transfers.
We got a 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment. I really wanted the penthouse with three bedroom and teh better view, but it was already booked. The room was really clean. We had a full kicthen and appliances. The view from the porch was great...nothing but wild life and nature. u could get a peak of the ocean and also on a good day you could see the mountains of Venezuela in South America.
The pool was nice. The kids loved it! its located between the two apartment buildings. We had a good view from our kitchen window. Also a few floating devices were provided.
Outdoor dining was awesome too...just make sure to bring bug spray ...mosquitoes there are hungrier than usual :-) We had daily breakfast and sometimes dinner out on the porch...it was very relaxing.
Each apartment has a hammock...so if ur in need of some quite time...make good use of it.
Patrick (the owner) also provided a Weber for the BBQ enthusiasts. All is there for your needs....only thing you need to have is the food to grill.
Patrick mentioned that there was a hiking trail that led to a salt pond, but with all we had going on, we didnt get to do that.
There are atleast two beaches closeby. Janthiel beach...which offers many luxurious amenities and a more laid back caracas baai beach.
Each apatment has its own washer. No dryer is included but we tend to wash our cloths either at night or early morning and by tehe following afternoon they are dry when they are hung in teh porch area.
A block away you can find a souvenier shop. It seems to be very popular as there were tour buses that dropped of tons of tourists there daily.
At the janthiel beach there are shops and a gelato shop that is a must if you have kids.
The apartments are pretty secure. You are able to park you car in side the peoperty gates and you are provided a key to be able to lock and unlock the gates at night. Your apartment has its own gate taht is not easy for teh kids to open..so they wont be able to get to teh pool as easy as I thought.
The place is well lit and due to teh area the apartment is in, there arent many non residents taht wander teh streets looking for trouble.
If you want to save some cash and enjoy the privacy of having your own place without the nagging of a housekeeper knwocking at yoru door to clean up. or being cramped up in a one bedroom hotel room for teh same price as what we paid at this apartment...I suggest HSH.
There are negatives....but they are not strictly related to the apartment...they are mainly island wide issue....e.g power outages, traffic, bugs...etc etc
