If you want to get away from the convencional hotels and stay closer to nature, with confort and facilities, that´s the perfect place. Beautifull blue sea just in front of you! what a a sunset! air conditioning works well, towels e nice sheets available. Nice and friendly staff. Must say some negative points: too many cockroaches in the first day, we had to use spray mosquito and got bette and If your apartment is not close to the office you wont be abble to reach free wi-fi sigh. We had an amzing staying, though, and we hope since we come back, stay there gain;

Room Tip: stay in front of the ocean. Make sure if wi-fi reaches your place.

Eight of the Livingston crew met at Sun Reef for a week of diving, snorkeling, and relaxing in July 2012. While 4 of us were not divers, and didn't want to be, we still found plenty to do around Sun Reef and the island. Sun Reef is located in a residential neighborhood, so it is pretty quiet at night. I loved that most apartments had a private deck and ladder into the water, but there is also a "public" that is empty most of the time. The apartments are comfortable. They are not luxurious in any way, but they are clean and well maintained. We found we had everything we needed to cook five dinners in a row. I also loved that the largest supermarket on the island is only a 5 minute drive away.

The owners were pretty fantastic. They are a lovely Dutch couple who are so eager to help. They told us non-divers what to do on the island and made reservations for horseback riding, dinner, and even an ATV ride around the southern part of the island. They will even do laundry for you, for a minimal fee.

We would definitely go back to Sun Reef, in a second! Is the weather ever terrible in Curacao? Nope! It's paradise!

Room Tip: If you have a large group of 8, you can have only one group of four get an ocean view and the others...

My boyfriend and I vacationed at Sun Reef Village and had an absolutely amazing time!
We stayed in a studio villa and it was perfect! Everything you could possibly need to cook was available (a huge supermarket is only a 5 minute drive away), and the bed was huge and comfy! We also had a private covered patio where we ate breakfast every morning...it was great!
The ocean was just a few steps away and we had access to a platform deck with a ladder right into the water! It was so blue and beautiful. You can sunbathe there, jump right into the ocean, snorkel,... anything! It was so nice. We also watched the sunset every night from there and it was breathtaking.
We rented car from Sun Reef for our entire week stay and it was the best decision we made. NOTE: Get a car! You will have a much better experience with the freedom to drive wherever you want to on the island. We went to beaches, downtown Willemstad (only about 12 minutes from Sun Reef), restaurants, the western tip of the island...it was convenient and easy and made for an extremely fun vacation.
I do not have anything bad to say about Sun Reef. It was absolutely perfect. Wim and Lisbeth are so nice and friendly and treat you like you are friends visiting them.
I will absolutely be returning to Sun Reef!!!

Room Tip: The studio was perfect for my boyfriend and I, but if you are travelling with friends, or you want a...

Loved this place and would definitely go back! Beautiful sunsets, right next to the ocean with a nice yard and lots of wildlife (iguanas and birds), well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and your own ladder right into the ocean. We loved snorkelling starting at Snake Bay and swimming down to Sun Reef.

The dive shop has very limited hours, 9am-10:30am, but tanks were always available.

The only glitches we had were: only 1 burner worked on the stove when we arrived, but the handyman fixed it; the toilet leaked water onto the floor the day before we left (don't know if that got fixed or not) and the safe lost power the night we were packing. Fortunately, we had removed our valuables earlier to pack. There was no one in the office at that time and our cell phones did not work on the island so we were not able to call Lisbeth when this happened. I recommend removing your items from the safe when you know someone is still in the office who can help you if there is a problem. Also, bring your own toilet paper, soap, shampoo and any other items you might need.

Lisbeth was a great help and very willing to answer any questions we might have. She arranged for us to have a lovely dinner in Willemstad which we really enjoyed. She also arranged for a very early morning transfer to the airport.

I highly recommend Sun Reef. If you want a quiet, beautiful place away from Willemstad in a much less-traveled area, a centralized location, this is a good choice!

Room Tip: We stayed at the Snapper - the last bungalow on one end. Very secluded and good choice.

Our family met at Sun Reef for a week of diving and relaxation. Sun Reef Village was the perfect choice. The bungalows are comfortable and funky in a good way. Ours shared kitchen and dining areas and were well-equipped and maintained. Sea view bungalows have superb vistas and easy down-the-ladder access to the ocean. Wim and Liesbeth are hosts par excellence. Easy going and efficient they run Sun Reef in a light-handed way. They handled airport transfers, car rentals, public transport details and anything else that might make your visit easier. Harld (not Harold) is equally easy going and runs nice little dive operation just off the parking lot. Truly great shore diving at Sun Reef and many other easily accessible sites around the island. If you're expecting the Ritz this isn't your place but if you want to have a wonderful time in a small scale, friendly and nicely laid out little village you definitely should consider Sun Reef.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with some cross ventilation (windows on opposite walls). There often is nice breez...

Great place to stay, Wim and Lisbeth were good hosts anything you needed just ask. The diving operation on site is ideal with Harold having a really good knowledge of the island and always available for advice or just a chat, all in all a great holiday.

Room Tip: If you do not have small children the bungalows facing the sea are perfect.

The Sun Reef Village in Curacao was the perfect place for the 2 weeks we stayed in Curacao. Wim and Lisbeth made us feel most welcome and they took care of everything we needed (including airport transfer, our car rental, online check in ...).

Lisbeth also organized our great private island trip with Bert. This day was very interesting. If you like to see the island and also get a lot of information’s about Curacao (and the plants, the animal, history …) then we can really recommend you to spend a day with Bert.

Our see-front-bungalow (Baracuda) was so much comfortable, very clean and really well equipped (incl. the kitchen). We stepped in and we felt like home from the first minute.

But really the best from all was this spectacular view over the Carribbean see. It was so beautiful and amazing. We loved our little garden and of course we liked so much our private sun deck. From the deck you have direct access (with a ladder) into the great Caribbean sea for swimming and snorkeling – just perfect!!!

And don’t miss the Sunset – it’s just amazing to sit and relax, have a nice cool drink and watch this spectacular colors which you will never forget.

You can reach a big Supermarket by car within a few minutes. There you can get everything you need.

We also recommend you Selma. You can order Selma’s dinner (fish or meat with side order) and she will deliver it to the fixed time. And it really tastes excellent!!

You can reach Willemstad very easy within 15 or 20 minutes by car. Also a lot of the nice beaches are not far. We most liked the beaches Daaibooibaai and Playa Laguna. These places were perfect for relaxing and snorkeling.

We also made the trip with the Catamaran Jonalisa to Little Curacao to see the Turtles. If you are a good sailor (means if you not get easily see sick) then you will have a really nice day at this fantastic place.

Sun Reef Village it’s not a 5-Star-Hotel. But we didn’t look for such holidays. We found the perfect place for our holidays in this little but great resort. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time at the Sun Reef Village.
It was one of the best vacations at one of the most beautifully places we ever had.

Sun Reef Village get’s 5 Stars from us!!
