We just arrived from Sol Sirenas – we loved our one week vacation there. July 7 - 14 Check in was really quick we had our room within minutes. We were accompanied to our room which was on the 4th floor
The brought the suitcases to us shortly thereafter. Most of the Coral side was closed however
the pool was open which is large and nice– this is the quieter pool location. There are two more pools one where there was more action due to the people was at the Sirenas side and the other is a deeper
pool which is good for sports. I noticed that they would often clean the pools throughout the day.
The beach was amazing with clear waters and a lot of beach areas with many palpas
I was not very happy with some of the animation team and often noticed tha they seemed to be having their own holiday rather than entertaining others.
The food was okay however I feel that they needed a larger selection of foods you could get omelettes,
Pastas and meats prepared for you according to your taste. We ate at the Italian and Mediterranean a la-carte restaurants and felt service was pretty quick and good.
The bartenders would always serve the people who spoke their language first even if you had left them
Tips earlier – I found that annoying as we were good tippers and felt that we should be treated fairly when we were getting drinks and not have others who spoke their language budding in and getting served first.
The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. I found often that other tourist would not care about cleaning up after themselves and leave a mess there is only so much work the gardeners can do.
I would definitely come back to Sol Sirenas and can see this resort turning into a five star resort in the future.

“A Joke!!!”

Sol Sirenas-Coral Resort

I just returned from this resort and stayed with my boyfriend and another couple. I was worried about the reviews but I had just figured that people were being extremely picky!!! NOT TRUE!!! I am not at all picky and try to make the most out of every situation, but this resort was terrible. We paid way too much for this place. The only way I would ever go back would be for a super cheap deal..maybe $500.

First of all, the Coral section was CLOSED for renovations...and we were never notified of this. That side was much nicer than the Sirenas. The place is rundown and old. The maids hardly do anything in the room (i.e. sand on the floor still, hair in the shower, ants all over the beds etc). The minifridge was never refilled either.

The food was HORRIBLE!!! Be prepared to eat french fries and ham and cheese sandwiches from the snack bar. The buffet was not good at all. I managed to have pretty good breakfasts (omelets, toast etc) but dinner was awful...the meat that was freshly prepared was decent, but everything else was a joke! Almost no dessert at all, hardly any fruit (only grapefruit and some other fruits). The juice was powdered and full of sugar - you will not find fresh juice anywhere. We actually left the resort to eat several times (Pizza Nova in town in amazing!!) Also, if you want to book restaurants you have to do it the first day...we did not and had to eat at the Italian 3 times.

The pool was the party place at night, which was good but the garbage and mess from the night before would be waiting to greet you in the morning! I did not see the pool cleaned a single time! The pool on the Coral side was 100x better and bigger.

The beach is absolutely stunning - powdery white sand and crystal clear water. I have absolutely no complaints about the beach.

I know that people say you don't spend time in the rooms or the resort and I agree. I am not griping about minor things! You will have a good time if you are ok with everything I listed above. I am not exaggerating, nor am I picky or snobby. I was disappointed with the service, the grounds and especially the food.

We stayed at the Sol Sirenas for 7 nights in June and got the trip for an incredible deal because we booked it online 3 days before we went - that's how you get the deals!

Employees - super friendly.
Other guests - a lot of young people looking to party, but also a good mix of everyone else. Hardly saw any kids at all.
Food - the buffets were ok, if you're staying at an all-inclusive in Cuba, you shouldn't really expect to be wowed by the food. After a couple of days, you get to know what you like and what you don't and if you get creative with the sauces, dressings, oils and veggies, you can make your meats and potatoes a little less bland. I was a bit disappointed with the fruit selection. There is a snack bar at the pool, good food available all day, several options, and when you order, it's ready fast!
Drinks - pretty quick service. Good, cold beer too.
Rooms - alright and a good size. The beds were firm. The bathroom was big. I'm fairly certain that our bed sheets were never changed the entire week. Even once would have been nice.
Facilities - I did have one major problem. For the first 3-4 days there was NEVER any toilet paper in the pool bathroom, the lobby bathroom, or the disco bathroom! I don't know if someone complained but after those few days, there was toilet paper in all of them. The shop in the lobby was good and kept decent hours.
Entertainment - a different show every night and those performers were awesome.
Off-Site - We did a day-trip on a catamaran (9am - 5pm) which was GREAT! For $100 per person: transportation to and from the marina, free drinks all day on the boat, swimming with dolphins, snorkling at a coral reef, lobster dinner on an island (Cayo Blanco), an hour on the beach on that island, and sandwiches mid-afternoon.

All in all, we were very impressed with the trip, especially considering what we paid for the whole week. (Not sure that I would rate it as a 4-star though.) I would recommend this resort to other travellers. If you pay between $600 - $900 per person for your airfare and accomodations, you won't be disappointed - book last minute!!

I stayed with my husband and young son. The trip was affordable and pleasant. Our room was big with king size bad and it had everything we needed in it. We also had a guest room and a balcony. It was in a quiet location so our son could take his naps. The hotel staff put baby crib in our room which was kept clean by the way. The only thing I didn't like is absence of elevator so we had to drag our baby and a stroller upstairs.We did not take advantage of a baby club even it was available to us.
Also buffet food is the same everyday for the most part I didn't mind because it had fresh and healthy choices.The services significantly better if tips are given to a wait staff. Otherwise it is slow. I only wish they had more baby chairs available. If we get there late they all being used.
The beach was the best thing there. There is also shallow pool sections for kids.
The nightly entertainment was good also sometimes not always appropriate for kids.

1- Terrible food, with some birds flying arround the buffet, the italian is horrible, and eating at night can be a wonderfull mosquito experience. The lake in front of the buffet is a mega mosquito factory that at night are starving for blood, tourist blood.

2- the jacuzzi is a mirage waiting for repairs, for looong time. same as other things, such as the restaurant, the shooting yard, the golf, etc.... only the pool is working and the beach is perfect!

3- the disco is lacking of amusement and there are no entertainment except if you drink 100 mojitos and enjoy this awful place;

4- the towels are dirty with holes, i can't imagine they give that to people;

5- the bar and kitchen are bit dirty and smells;

6- in the last day prepare to have a shower in a room without AC and small towels, dirty and holes.

WELL BAD IMAGE TO THAT AMAZING COUNTRY....
