Our welcome at this hotel was very pleasant - greeted with cold damp towels and "Cuba Libres" - but the hotel rooms are very very small as it is quite an old hotel on one of the main streets of the town. Front rooms get traffic noise - back rooms around the patio get woken by cockerels from about 4.30 am daily.
The main problem with this hotel is that the food is served in an open patio or a roofed walkway and the buffet laid out for breakfast was covered in flies wandering all over the food. The staff don't cover it in any way and quite honestly you just don't want to eat anything. A similar thing happens with dinner.
The staff are friendly but seem totally unconcerned by the flies and their presence on the food.
Happy hour brings offer of 2 cocktails for 1 CUC which is exceedingly cheap and they are not watered down as in some places.
