Myself and my girlfriend flew to Havana with Virgin Atlantic, and chose the hotel Saratoga from the various websites, and reading past reviews of past clients.We were happy with our choice, it is a lovely hotel in a prominent position for exploring old Havana. We found the staff very helpful, and the service was always first rate for us. Our breakfast which was a buffet, was included in the price, and in the two evenings of our visit, we explored Havana's restauarants, I can't remember our favourite restaurant, other than it began with an 'N'.
On the last day when we were leaving we found that there was also a Gym there as well, so we will have something to look forward to next year when we return.
However, luckily we did manage to find the most beautiful swimming pool on the rooftop of the hotel , with views over Havana to die for, this was to become our favourite pastime, spending time at the pool and the bar on the rooftop, and as always,the service was second to none. Time passes so fast when you are enjoying yourselves and it was time to leave for Varadero. The conscierge at the hotel arranged all our on-going transport for us to Varadero, the staff always had this knack of making us feel like V.I.Ps.
We hope that we will be able to return next year, and tell you of our second visit, now we have found the extra facilities available.

Having stayed at the Saratoga in June 2009 we don't have any problems in recommending it to anyone who want's Location,location, location.
The hotel is a nice building with much colonial history, and now has been fully restored to a very high standard.. Our room was lovely and because we were on honeymoon the management treated us to a very special bottle of wine and a complimentary dinner at the Anacaona Restaurant.. In the morning we had breakfast in the hotel, which was included, with the food and service excellent.
Here is a surprise for everyone, the top floor had a beautiful swimming pool, which is just what is needed on Havana's seriously hot days, to say nothing of the views that came with it for free from the rooftop We spent many hours there soaking up the mojitos and the views..it was so amazing. Throughout the hotel, both upstairs on the terrace and in the reception, the staff here were so friendly. During our stay there , we did have a problem though, which was of a personal nature , nothing to do with the hotel, except that the conscierge took it upon herself to help us, suceeded, and thanks to her we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay in Cuba. Yes, this is a lovely hotel, we couldn't fault it, mind you we are on our honeymoon. Seriously though, we did enjoy this hotel and we are going back to Cuba next year, and our port of call should we visit Havana with be the 'Saratoga'' John & Louise Liverpool

We stayed there This should be reclassified 4 star. It is nicely appointed, but not 5 star, and the service is not in any way up to scratch. The staff are lacklustre and very much 2 star in quality, the street outside was constantly filthy with the same old cans and plastic bags, and I noticed that other hotels kept the streets clean in front of their hotels. I don't see why the Saratoga can't do the same. The breakfast is not great and the cooked food was extremely greasy.

Whenever we ordered a taxi from the hotel, it was always about double the cost of the return taxi. This seemed very odd to us.

We stayed at the Saratoga Hotel for seven nights in April and as seasoned travellers we can be hard to please at times, but we could find no fault with this hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. We had a deluxe patio room which was very comfortable and roomy and the bathroom was spacious and well-stocked with toiletries. There was a well-stocked mini-bar and the chambermaid service was very efficient. We used the pool bar, the mezzanine bar and the hotel restaurant and were impressed by the standard of food and service. After checking out most of the other 4/5 star hotels in Havana we were extremely pleased that we were in this particular hotel.
