“Sarita- mi mejor amiga en Cuba!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Sarita, is one of this person who you will remember for all of your life. Because of her and her family I really want to come back Habana one day. At Sarita's house I never felt like guest but like part of her family. I speak just a little in Spanish, and Sarita doesn't speak English but every day we were talking with her a lot. The breakfast at Sarita's house is really good but the best is guayba juice and Sarita's coffee :-) we were thinking to stay at her house just a few days but in the end we stayed more than 2 weeks!
The location of her flat is really good, it's near everywhere.
I really miss Sarita - I really love her. I like her husband and very helpful son.
Highly recommended this place for everybody who wants to visit Habana.

Saritarooms is the best casa particular in Cuba. Sarita and her husband they will make your stay unforgettable, they'll treat you like part of their family but at the same time you are indenpendent! casa is situated in the centre of Havana, just few minutes walk to Capitol,Havana Vieja. nice and clean rooms, common use salon, balcony, great and fresh breakfast served wherever time the best for you. they will give you plenty of usuful advices about Havana and Cuba expierience. At the end of my 3weeks trip in Cuba I planned to stay in Havana only one night but I changed my plans to enjoy Sarita's and her family company for a few days more!I miss them!

Room Tip: in the Havana centre, clean, nice and cheap rooms with great atmosphere

We booked two nights in November 2012 in Sarita Rooms.

I have to admit that before arrival I was quite anxious about living with unknown family but in this case there is nothing to worry about. It is hard to imagine how hosts: Mrs Sarita and her husband are nice, cheerful and helpful people. From the very beginning I felt as if I were at home of one of my beloved aunts. They are very attentive and they offer a lot of advices if only you need them. If you prefer independence, there is no problem, you will have your own keys. In fact I didn't expect that the atmosphere would be so great. We really regretted that we couldn't stay longer.

I recommend you also to try delicious ;P fresh fruit juices prepared not only for breakfast!

The rooms and location are also very good. We stayed in room with balcony with nice view on Center of Havana. It is in walking distance (15minutes) from old district with lots of tourist attractions. This walk gives a chance to observe real life of people and to feel atmosphere of the city. You can't miss that experience in Havana!

Very nice and well prepared rooms, situated closed to all important sights in Havana,
but what makes this place really special are hosts and their attitude to help and make you feel like home, serving the best guava juice you will ever try.

‘Sarita Rooms’ is located in Centro Havana. It is about a mile from the main tourist area of Havana Vieja which, for me, makes it close enough to the action and yet far enough away for a ‘traveller’ to feel they are getting a taste of the ‘real’ Cuba as you are living among the local populace.

A pleasant stroll along any one of the streets opposite ‘Sarita Rooms’ will take you straight into Vieja and will give you the opportunity to get a feel for everyday life in amongst the magnificently crumbling buildings of Centro, free of the jinitero hassle that will descend on you once you cross into Vieja. The Centro location also has the benefit {at present } of being largely tourist free. Again not the case in Vieja.

The Malecon is nearby. Turn left outside the building and walk for about 5 minutes and you are cruising one of the capital’s highlights where, again, you can walk into Vieja but along the seafront. Be very careful crossing the road here though as the drivers, like ‘The Terminator’ will not stop. Ever.

The Casa itself is on the second floor and 4 flights of stairs need to be negotiated but inside the accommodation is roomy with en- suite facilities including hot water. You are issued with your own set of keys so you can come and go as you please.

Sarita and her husband Juan are very friendly and helpful and will arrange taxis etc. usually at rates below street prices and breakfast is available on request. They are very experienced and trustworthy.

I have stayed at a number of casas in the Havana area including in Vieja but for location and friendliness of the owners this is my favourite.

Nice location where you can feel the real spirit of Havana. Close enough to the centre, not far from the sea. Clean, comfortable and with AC. Amazing hosts! Warm, helpful and extremely friendly people.
