We stayed here for three nights. The hotel is of modern appearance, with lots of blue reflective glass. The atrium of the hotel extends to the full height if this hotel and the lifts up the atrium are fast, and efficient, but sometimes the hotel has an influx of a large group of guests, and this may lead to delays.
Our room was large and clean and overlooked the ocean and inland towards Havana. We did not have a balcony. The outside of the windows were rather dirty, but we appreciate these would have been difficult to clean.
The staff were all very polite and helpful. The hotel, as per another we stayed at was a little lacking in information-leaflets which normally would be in the guest`s room. Therefore, for instance, we did not realise that there was a dolphin park about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
The food in the buffet for breakfast was fine, less so for the evening.
We dined in the Italian on one evening, and would recommend this.
There is a bar in the atrium, and another at the top of the hotel. In this bar the first night we saw an excellent jazz combo. The pianist was exceptional.
There is a pool in the grounds, and we spent the odd hour here. Apparantly the water was nice and warm but we didn`t try. We were only here for a few days so we wanted to get out and about.
As others have said, the hotel is a little far out from Havana centre, but the Miramar area itself is pleasant to walk around.
There are shops up by the Commodoro hotel, but just across the main road from the Panorama is a supermarket. The shelves do not have our usual range of goods, but for essential items it works. If you buy something here, make sure you get a till receipt from the cash-out girl, as a man at the exit door demands to see it before you are allowed to leave!
