This modern hotel is several miles outside Havana City in an area of up-market houses and foreign embassies. It is on the sea front so most rooms offer a sea view.
The rooms are very spacious with fridge, air-conditioning and huge beds and there is a very big atrium with reception and bar facilities.
The main restaurant, El Viajero, is buffet-style and had (for Cuba) a reasonable choice of food, although often lukewarm or not well-cooked. We enjoyed a meal in the Bistro Berlin, which is a la carte.
We went for a few walks around the area, and it was one of the few places during our tour of the island that we weren't hassled by beggars.
There is a huge modern church within walking distance, known as "Jesus of Miramar" which contrasts vividly with other churches of the country.
