“Uneven experiences”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Eating at La Carboncita is a bit of a lottery. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not. It is never bad or terrible though!
What you get is your standard Italian menu with some surprises on the pasta side. The pizzas are thin and crunchy and very tasty too.
What really needs to better is the service. It will take forever just to order and once you get your food you won't see the waitresses for the whole dinner. To pay the check you basically need to tackle one of them or just head to the cashier.

“Great little restaurant serving wonderful Italian style food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

I have eaten here a number of times and the food has been consistently good. Very attentive waitresses and the chef makes the rounds to make sure everyone is happy. I would recommend the seafood and pastas as in my experience they are very well done. I am not a pizza eater but have heard the pizzas are great here. A small selection of good wines available with prices that are acceptable as well.

“Best Meal in Havana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We went here on our first night. We had showed a list of Italian restaurants that we printed from trip advisor to our hotel receptionist and she said they did the best pizza, so we got a taxi. Although it was difficult to find, we eventually got there. we explained to the chef that we're vegetarian and he made us the best pizza ever.
Highly recommend this place, lovely outdoor seating, great food and atmosphere.
Although it was far from our hotel and we got a bit lost and was hard to find, was worth the trip.

“Worth the trip out of town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

I made a note of this place prior to my trip to Havana incase I fancied some alternative food. We were not disappointed when we made the trip out, the food was lovely and the service very good, the Chef comes out to say hello and offers some very good rum on the house when you've finished your meal. Thoroughly enjoyable.
