Stayed here for 3 nights prior to a trip to Varadero and loved the hotel.

The room which was a single was spacious with a double bed. It was nice and cool thanks for the tiled walls and floor. I was on the 7th floor and over looked the pool and had a view of the Capitol (see pics). It also had a fridge which was great for keeping the botles of water cool.

The bathroom was well appointed with plenty of hot water and nice fluffy towels.

Food was good, better than most reviews of Cuban food generally led me to expect.

The breakfast was varied with plenty of fresh fruit as well as cold and hot meats, cheese, eggs, bread with loads fo fruit juice and coffee. A typical European style buffet breakfast really.

I had dinner once in the 9th floor restaurant which is a fantastic place with good views and also once in the buffet with the buffet having a good choice of meat, fish, rice and vegetables.

The lobby bar and the lobby itself is a great place to lounge around watching the world go by and the hotel also has a bank, cigar and souvenier shops and a pharmacy.

Electric points are 110v 2 flat pin sockets.

Well recommended hotel in a great location with friendly polite helpful staff and thoughly recommended.

Any Q's just ask.

In may 2005 I staid one night at the Sevilla Hotel in La Habana. My room was really tiny as well the bathroom. It was the smallest bed- and bathroom I ever had in any so called 4 star Hotel.
The food in the rooftop restaurant is very mediocre to say at least. I had a peppersteak without pepper.
The big advantage is the location. And it's probably the only central located hotel with a garden and pool.
Would I stay there again? I don't know

We were at the Hotel Sevilla from May 8-11/05 as part of a Signature Vacation two-centre holiday including 4 nights at the Coralia Club Playa de Oro, Varadero (which we really enjoyed for a week-long vacation).

For a short visit to Havana, the location is ideal for visiting the Old City, the Museum of the Revolution, and strolling along the Prado and the Malecon. As first-time visitors, we enjoyed these aspects of the city the most and we were glad that our hotel was within walking distance of these highlights. We saw more of the city during a 1/2 day bus tour and would explore these areas during a second visit. The city and its people are vibrant despite the lack of material wealth (which many were intent on informing us), and we were glad that we spent some time in Havana before we were whisked away to the isolated beaches of Varadero.

We have no complaints about this charming hotel. Even though we arrived quite late on the first night, the check-in was quick and easy, we met a porter who was helpful throughout the duration of our trip, and then we were taken to a beautiful, large, clean room with fully working facilities on the 8th floor overlooking the Prado and the sea - a room we would have chosen if given the choice! The rest of the hotel including the pool was also clean and appeared to be well maintained.

The breakfast buffet and dinner in the Giralda restaurant were absolutely fine, and the view from the 9th floor restaurant made up for its mediocre food. We thoroughly enjoyed the live music in the courtyard. All of the staff we encountered were polite and very helpful without us feeling like they expected a tip.

The only warning we will pass along from personal experience and on the advice of hotel staff and our Signature Rep is that you should avoid going across to the west side of the Prado late at night - we befriended a few people who seemed quite intent on leading us in this direction before we realized that something wasn't quite right.

Otherwise, enjoy this great hotel!

Stayed here in May the location of hotel is great for getting about Havana. The hotel has lots of character and a variety of musicians throughout the afternoon and evening. My room was kept clean and comfortable not in a good location for view, but I only slept in it. Friends had much better views. Breakfast was fine. I only ate at the snack bar which was reasonable. I felt the bar was overpriced for quality and have had far better mojitas elsewhere in Havana, however staff were all polite and helpful. I would stay here again for the location. Shower had fantastic power. Cuban friends were also allowed into hotel without any problems, which is not always the case despite it being their country.

Just got back from 4 nights at the sevilla and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a lovely hotel with lots of character and the service is very good. The only downside was the breakfast sometimes was not in abundance if you went too late and the general cleanliness of the hotel was a bit poor. The rooms where clean but dusty and could do with a damp cloth over some places, but this is the general feeling for the whole of cuba, so the hotel is no worse. It could be a 5 star if they just made a bit more of an effort. I think we had a superior room on the 7th floor, even though we didn't ask for it, as it had a lounge and a bedroom. It was really nice and the view was tremendous so would recommend it to anyone. The location was the best bit and there was always taxis outside ready to take you wherever. I personally wouldn't return to cuba as I have seen it now and the poverty, hassle and paying every time I wanted some loo paper got me down a bit, but if you haven't seen havana, then go and stay here!
