Room - clean and well stocked with toiletries considering Cuba has problems with obtaining certain products.
Room service - excellent, chambermaids very pleasant and towel sculptures left everyday which were amazing.
Buffet breakfast - acceptable, very busy but so what !! everyone else has to holiday !!!
Location - could not be any better to see all sights.
Staff - exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Bar - well stocked and music every day and night.
History of hotel very impressive and lots of famous people stayed there in early years - even Al Capone !!!!

Have just come back from spending 4 nights at the Sevilla Spt 18th to 22nd. I was dubious about staying there after reading some of the reviews buf in the end it was fine.It is in a good location and it is a grand ole building and like some of the other reviews have said 'like a faded old film star'.

Our room was adequate, in need of renovation but this is in Cuba dont forget and it was very clean and we had no problems in it at all.

The facilites in the hotel were fine, the breakfast buffet was more than adequate, the roof top restaurant lovely and the atmosphere and staff in the hotel great. Only complaint was the lobby area needed air con or fans as it was too hot to sit in.

Basically you get what you pay for in Cuba and if you want top of the range that stay at the NH PArque Central but if you want like me a decent clean hotel centrally located (but is in need of renovation in parts but then to do that might spoil some of its charm!?) then here is fine. And the pool is very useful to be able to sit by and relax after a day sightseeing

it was our first day in honeymoon. first time in Cuba. the hotel seemed ok but barely empty, in October last year (just seen this amazing site). the room was ok regarding hygiene and nostalgic. the rest of the facilities were really hot though, no A/C.
In the morning the guide was late so we have decided to walk around a bit. In minutes, my husband was dragged into a car (yes, in the main square, at the front of the hotel), and I asked for help from the hotel. They have done otherwise: they have stopped me to call the embassy as apparently they had some employee envolved, because the kidnappers knew many things about us.
This is beyond the hotel review, and everything was sorted out (except for our €300) but the hotel service was unhelpful, actually dreadful. They actually told us that we were asking for it as we had that money (as advised, we had to change some to CUC and our room safe was not working properly). they treated us really bad during all stay and moreover, after that nightmare and after reporting the situation to the magnificent police, they had an employee that was chosen to follow us everywhere we went!!!
We thanked God when we were allowed to leave to Cayo Largo, which is the paradise on earth. However, we are still dealing with a complaint against the guide, as he had also been against us, as we were a foolish Portuguese couple and when he promised that he would send us to a tour that left 2 hours before what he told us, on purpose, for us not to be able to go... so we were stuck there for 3 days, only able to go to the swimming pool, and even so with the employee on our back...
If you want for all the staff to know your backgroung story, even though it's confidential, please choose this hotel. Nonetheless, if you want a minimum safe place to be, choose any other hotel. I mean it.
PS: the bread is yeaterday's bread, and the dressings and sauces are covered by a crispy mosquito cover...

A classical Havana hotel with a nice atmosphere. Perfect location.

Great exterior, fantastic panorama from the elegant top floor restaurant (visit this even if you don't stay at the hotel, highly recommended! food was great and service was very friendly although a bit slow), lovely lobby hall (also worth a visit). The cafe in the atrium was our favorite place to eat (although limited menu), convenient and friendly. There was always a band playing cuban music in the cafe, usually very high quality professional musicians.

The hotel has a small pool in the garden. Great place for the hottest days. Friendly service at the pool cafe.

The rooms were OK, a bit run down perhaps but not worse than you can expect in Cuba. Main disadvantage of the rooms was bad (or no) sound protection as there can be a lot of noise and echo in the open corridor. Soundproofing should be much better in a hotel at this level.

We really enjoyed the place and have no specific complaints.

We spent 5 nights at the Sevilla at the end of April 2008. Staff were charming and helpful and the room was spacious and adequate. However, there were a number of rough edges - the towels were threadbare, the shower was lukewarm, the toilets in the reception area were dreadful, as were the showers and toilets in the pool area. Shame because the pool was lovely. Internet services painfully slow. The only food we took was breakfast and this was not bad, but our friends said the buffet dinner in the restaurant was very good.

If you want a quiet room, ask for one numbered from X14 to X20 on whatever floor you are allocated.

  • Liked — Central location covenient for tourism
  • Disliked — Toilets in reception area
