After a day of touring buildings left in ruins since 1959, we could't wait to return to our 'oasis'--a beautiful, modern lobby, gorgeous pool area, and our room--a suite with a living room, two bathrooms and wonderful closet/storage space. Immaculate throught, this hotel has not fallen down in stature--it continues to be well-maintained, offers Wi-Fi, a mini-bar and other things Americans have come to expect. Very few hotels, large or small, in Havana, can offer this type of luxury. The service staff is friendly, the breakfast buffet is abundant, and there are several nice restaurants to choose from. Taxis are readily available for the short trip downtown and to old Havana--and there is even a small shopping mall across the street.
