“Nice and cheap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

If you are looking for a cheap but charming restaurant, this is the place. This "paladar" is found in a very nice patio, and the food is typically Cuban.

“Consistantly Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

I have had many meals here over the years for my work. It's a great place to bring a group, and they always seem to love it. The staff there goes over and above the call of duty, to insure that every guest has a great experience! This might be the place to have a steak, while eating in Havana. Also, a must mention, the band there is FANTASTIC !!!!! These musicians are top notch, and if you're not tuned in, could be taken for background music. (something that I do my best to let my travelers know!) They are fantastic, get them to play Cuban music, and listen to the piano player take a solo!!!!!

“First-class”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Mar 18
After our guide pointed to Cafe del Oriente was where we would have lunch, our attention was focused on this place as we toured Old Havana. Well-located in "ground zero," we were treated to a 3-course lunch upstairs, consisting of a starter of smoked salmon, filet of beef (from Canada) and potatoes, and ice cream cake. It ended with wonderful coffee. A trio played for us nearby.
We had local filet of beef on the first day at Restaurant Comedor de Aguiar in the Nacional de Cuba Hotel. It was the toughest steak ever! The guide told us that the local cows are sacred and not killed for meat--only old cows are used for meat. So we were pleased to hear that our filet was imported. Also potatoes are not so common we were told.
I think you will like this resto. I highly recommend coming here.
