Far too expensive for what you get. The breakfast buffet is terrible, and the food you can buy otherwise is meagre and uninspiring. The shower was a joke, a cold dribble. The room itself was simply acceptable, nothing good or bad about it. The area is noisy.
However, the staff working at this hotel are useless, bordering on bandits. On the first day of my stay I used my towel. On the second day they were replaced by fresh towels. On the third day my towels were taken but no new ones were replaced. No towels showed up for the rest of my stay. To add insult to injury, my own personal towel (which is big and blue, unlike the hotels small white towels) was stolen by the cleaning staff, and a friends white trousers were also stolen.
The coup de grace came when I came to leave the Hotel. I checked out, deposited my luggage in the care of reception, and was then accused of stealing two of the hotels towels, and told I would not get my luggage back until I paid way over the odds to have them replace. This made me furious. I was not permitted to retrieve my bags and was physically restrained by security to prevent me leaving. I had to pay 20 pesos to be allowed to leave, after hearing that I had been given fresh towels every day from my cleaner, and told that I had left the towels at the beach, despite the fact I did not go to the beach. I was even told that they knew I had been to the beach on Sunday, as they found "Sunday Sand" in my room.
After this incident, I ordered a sandwich and water because I was hungry and thirsty, which comes to CUC4.50. I recieved no change from a CUC10 note.
Do not stay at this hotel.
