Excellent stay, nice clean hotel. Stayed one week in May and it felt like home. Food 8/10, couple of mistakes made, nothing major, food quality 10/10. beds 8/10, a little firm but aren’t they all! Made a comment about mango missing from buffet at breakfast and it was there from then onwards – that was good. Lovely staff. Particularly Amy (massage) and the pool guy who found my suncream and kept it for me. The concierge however, messed up badly and didn’t book an American car for a very special trip we wanted to take. It took a different concierge a while to locate another one. Quite a ropey one! (car not guy) – but then we will never know what we could have had if the original guy had sorted it out properly.
Was told 2 days before arrival that we would have to move out for one night –right in the middle of our weeks holiday - due to overbooking. We always deal with problems in resort at the time so we agreed a deal in the UK but also asked for confirmation of all details when we arrived. They paid for a night at the Nacionale, diner and breakfast at Nacionale and a show plus cab there and back. Had a drink with a manager who explained the situation and apologized. We were upgraded to a suite on our return the Parque. The helpful attitude of the staff totally outweighed any inconvenience. We still have fond memories and have almost forgotten the constant packing/unpacking!
Having tried both “Biggies”, the Nacionale and the Parque, we far prefer the Parque. It almost equals the Nacionale in atmosphere although in a different way. The pool is great as long as the flight crews haven’t taken over the area and turned it into their very own social club. The nacionale is desperate for refurbishment and is quaint if you have rose tinted glasses on. The parque has a newer elegance and is slap in the middle of tourist-town.
It was worth having a week here to see most of what we wanted. We took a cab to the beach one day and used the pool for other time-outs. So lovely and cool in the heat.
The bathroom in the suite is lovely but the narrow corridor L-shapes of the rooms makes it a strange area to relax in. We only really used the bedroom and bathroom. The normal rooms are large and light with marble style bathrooms. All very comfortable and clean.
The Parque is often thought of and I will definitely return.
