Rooms are modern, clean and spacious with comfortable beds, TV and air conditioning. Bathrooms are large with bath, separate roomy shower and lots of hot water. Housekeeping are very helpful and are quick to deliver extra towels and a selection of pillows. In fact all of the employees were friendly and helpful.
Excellent and substantial breakfast buffet served until 10am, 11 at weekends. This is kept well stocked throughout breakfast with fresh tropical fruit, cereals, cooked food, ham, cheese, fresh bread, desserts, coffee etc.
Ate at El Paseo restaurant in the hotel and could not fault the food or service. I ate out in Havana the rest of the time and enjoyed all of the meals I had in Cuba, no complaints at all - much better quality than many capital cities.
Some of the other hotels are lovely old historic buildings - to visit. NH Parque Central is a comfortable haven where everything worked - air conditioning, hot water, lifts, even when the rest of Havana seemed to be suffering from power outages... such as during Wilma. It is well designed, in keeping with other buildings in the area. There is a bar and pool on the roof with a view of Havana and a lovely cool breeze.
There weren't any Parque view or atrium rooms available as our tour operators request had not got through, so unfortunately ended up at the back of the hotel overlooking the building works, but the room itself was still excellent.
Very convenient location at the edge of the old town and 15 minute walk down to the sea. Over the road there is a good pizza and pasta restaurant - A Prado y Neptuno and a shop selling water. Stayed in Havana for 8 nights and I am very glad I read the reviews first and selected this hotel.
