Congratulations on reaching no. 1 again. We stayed there for 4 nights from 31 August 2005 and found it to be excellent. I had been concerned about the service in the Lobby bar having read some of the reviews but the service was excellent and the Hamburger is delicious. The girls serving were pleasant and efficient and we never had to wait for service. I would have no reservations recommending this hotel to anyone.

We originally intended to stay at the Parque Central for two nights, but due to unforseen circumstances (Cubana Airlines!) we ended up spending an additional four nights at this hotel and the staff were great at accomodating and welcoming us back each time.

During my stay i had rooms on the 3rd, 6th and also 7th floor. The rooms were good, I felt the rooms on the higher floors were superior as you got amazing views of Havana and they seemed more light and airy.

One point i should make unfortunately on the Saturday night there was live music in the bulding next door which kept us awake till three in the morning- but this is no fault of the hotel and i don't know wether it happens every weekend.

The hotel is in an amazing location, and the views from the pool on the roof take your breath away i could spend hours watching the hustle and bustle in the streets from the quite sanctuary of the roof.

I was very impressed with the breakfasts- with fresh bread and pastry's we never went hungry. I must also make a special mention of the chef who prepared my eggs to perfection every morning and always had a friendly comment and a smile on his face!

I would also recommend having a cocktail at the lobby bar- where the service is great and the drinks are of a high standard. There was alway live music to keep you entertained.

We ate at the pool bar on one occasion and were particuarly impressed with the burgers, we did not eat at any of the other restaurants so i can not comment.

If i were ever to return to Havana I would definitely return to this hotel.

Just returned from Cuba, I stayed at the Parque Central for two nights. I arrived around 11pm, check in took around 15 minutes and then we made our way up to our room. The rooms are really spacious and there was a balcony that opened out onto the main road and looked down into Parque Central. I woke up at 7am and took another look outside and the view was breathtaking. Fantastic views over the city and the buildings, i could see the rooftops and into dwellings. Breakfast was very good - huge selection ( I did see a man eating rice and chicken in the morning and thought why? - but hey whatever turns you on). The restaurant was really nice and the staff friendly. The bar and lobby areas were cool and spacious. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi lived up to its expectations and the views were stunning. We took in the city in the mornings and relaxed by the pool in the afternoons. The hotel is very central and as soon as you step out of the door you feel like you are right in the centre of everything, there are taxis outside of all kinds, regular, vintage, horse, bike and some little three wheel bubble taxis too. I throughly enjoyed my stay there and would definitely go back again. I read some critical reviews on this site but I had no need to worry.

Location, location, location. The hotel is slap bang in the middle of all you require in Havana. The pool is fantastic with inspiring views over the rooftops. Rooms are large, beds enormous, fab bathroom and all meticulously clean. Staff were all very helpful, polite and friendly. It was a pleasure to stay in a well managed hotel.
Drag yourself out of the huge bed for an equally impressive spread. Please remember they are catering for all tastes from around the world so some food items may appear as an unusual inclusion. The omelettes went down very well with all the guests.
We stayed for a week in Havana and had a wild time exploring the countless museums and salsa bars. For a fantasic nights entertainment head to Bar Monserrate which is the liveliest. It combines free live music, basic food and delicious cocktails and is within crawling distance of the hotel and compared to London prices incredibly inexpensive.
The only thing that I can think of to improve the hotel would be an ATM and internet access. They are within spitting distance of the hotel but in house would be better. I may even be wrong about the above as we couldn't wait to sashay our way around Havana Vieja that we did not exactly inspect every nook and cranny of NH Parque Central.
I miss the unique atmosphere of Havana and most of that bed!
