Location, location, location. The hotel is slap bang in the middle of all you require in Havana. The pool is fantastic with inspiring views over the rooftops. Rooms are large, beds enormous, fab bathroom and all meticulously clean. Staff were all very helpful, polite and friendly. It was a pleasure to stay in a well managed hotel.
Drag yourself out of the huge bed for an equally impressive spread. Please remember they are catering for all tastes from around the world so some food items may appear as an unusual inclusion. The omelettes went down very well with all the guests.
We stayed for a week in Havana and had a wild time exploring the countless museums and salsa bars. For a fantasic nights entertainment head to Bar Monserrate which is the liveliest. It combines free live music, basic food and delicious cocktails and is within crawling distance of the hotel and compared to London prices incredibly inexpensive.
The only thing that I can think of to improve the hotel would be an ATM and internet access. They are within spitting distance of the hotel but in house would be better. I may even be wrong about the above as we couldn't wait to sashay our way around Havana Vieja that we did not exactly inspect every nook and cranny of NH Parque Central.
I miss the unique atmosphere of Havana and most of that bed!

Generally we found the NH Parque to be an excellent hotel.
The location is ideal set right in the heart of old town Havanna and many of the most interesting sites are within easy walking distance. Always remember Cuba is very hot and humid and even walking short distances can be very tiring. The Capitol building - a copy of the White House - is only mentioned briefly in some guide books but is well worth a visit and all the Hemingway haunts and the real Cuba is literally right on your doorstep.
The hotel has an impressive and air conditioned lobby. The rooms are large and with good facilities. As well as a bath there is an impressive power shower and the king size beds can fit at least eight - not that we tried.
There is a good swimming pool on the roof with stunning views over Havanna.
Breakfast is impressive although unusual by western standards. Sprouts, carrots and other vegetables were available. Good advice is to choose carefully. The omeletes were always a safe treat and the service was generally excellent. In fact the management and the staff were always helpful and on the ball - they even read this web site and respond - which is a good example of caring and trying to do their best.
I would avoid the restaurant in the evening. Although the menu looks inviting we were diappointed and it seems expensive. The food in the lobby and on the rooftop restaurant were better value for money.
Also remember the extras can push up your bill. The four of us - two adults and two chidren stayed for four nights and the total extras were about £300 -and we were just having the drinks and the occassional snack. Remember when you return to the hotel, it is so hot the first inclination is to order cool drinks - it soon mounts up !
But generally this is a top class hotel which try hards with willing staff and knows exactly what it is doing. Also remember Cuba is a poor but very friendly country. Expect to be hassled for money although not in a threatening way. Security is everywhere with at least three staff in the lobby at any one time.
But great hotel, great place and lovely people

We stayed for 5 days at the Parque Central in Havana, Cuba. It was a beautiful, excellent hotel. The people were very friendly and helpful. The rooms confortable, and in excellent conditions. The best part was the swiming pool on the roof, which gave you a beautiful view of old Havana. I will definitely recomend it.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and family and had a wonderful time. The hotel was beautiful, well air-conditioned, had a lovely view from the roof-top, clean and the service was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to visit it again. Also, one of the restaurants inside the hotel served an excellent monkfish for dinner. And the service there was excellent.
