i wrote a report on my experience of Cuba, but in general terms the hotel is well positioned in stumbling distance to most things. Staff are professional and friendly. Great pool on the roof with stunning views. Good breakfast, Decent sized bedrooms which are very clean. I would definately recommend the hotel. The only negative is that smoking is permitted in the lobby but no great issues.

On 10-17 June I visited HAVANA and I spent all my time there to this marvelous Hotel which is decorated in colonial style.
Located in the center of the city, you can approach everything on foot.
THE hotel is very clean, the staff friendley and the buffet for brekfast with a hugh variety of almost everything.
Diner and supper ade decent, nevertheless a bit expencive.
On the terrace of the hotel there is a marvelous swimming pool with breathtaking view.
DO NOT HESITATE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL, I FULLY RECOMENT IT.

Me and my boyfriend went to this hotel for 2 nights at the start of our holiday to Cuba.
We loved this hotel, cannot fault it at all. We ended up with a suite which was a nice and pleasant surprise, so the room was massive with a huge king size bed, the bathroom is huge, with a bath with shower head, a seperate shower, and dressing gowns, and minature toiletries.
The mini bar is around the same price as you would pay for the drinks up at the bar.
The roof top pool is lovely and there are great views to over Havana from the roof. We didn't venture into the pool, but just sat up there and had a drink.
The buffet breakfast is absolutely fantastic, they have something for everybody, these people that moan about the breakfast, god knows what they eat back home, as there is a massive selection and the chef will also cook omlettes for you, there is cooked food, cold cheese and ham, rolls, bread, dohnuts, basically nearly everything you can think off, there is a large selection of fruit juices also and cava and wine.
We went into one of the restaurants at night for a meal in the hotel, and the food was gorgeous, waitress was very nice also.
Cannot fault this place at all, and would highly recommend this.

This was our first time to Cuba and we spent the first three days of our holiday here before moving on to Guardalavaca.
We could not fault anything about this place. The staff were always courteous, the food was excellent, the pool was lovely and the hotel location was perfect.
The view from the roof-top pool looking down towards the Capitol Building is the one you will see in a host of holiday brochures and on postcards and is probably one of the best known 'pictures' of Havana.
We did look into staying at the Hotel Nacional at first but knew we had made the right decision in the end when we took a taxi to have a look at the hotel. The Old Town is on your doorstep with the Parque Central whereas the Nacional is quite a bit further away.
If we ever return to Havana we would most definately stay at this hotel again.
We arranged to meet up with a local tour guide (Alex) on the second day which turned out to be the highlight of our stay. This was a 'walking' tour of the city that lasted about six hours and covered everything you would ever want to know about the history and culture of the city and the lovely people of Cuba.
