We stayed at the Parque Central for one night before returning home after a two week tour of Cuba. It is a superbly located hotel, right in the centre of Old Havana. All you want to see is close to hand, i.e the Capitol, art galleries, Museum of the Revolution and the famous bars are within walking distance. Our room, although at the back of the hotel, was very large and comfortable. The bathroom was large with a separate shower. The roof top pool afforded great views of Havana and offered very good lunch time food. The beefburger and the panini we ate as a snack before leaving for the airport were very tasty. The choice of food at breakfast was enormous, including Cava or wine if you wished. The quality of the food was excellent, although the coffee was disappointing for the class of hotel. The barman in the cocktail bar on the ground floor mixed the best Dry Martini I've had in years. After two weeks of Rum cocktails of varying standards , I needed a Martini! For a gentle tour of Havana take one of the horse drawn carriages lined up outside the hotel. This was well worth the time and money.
