Excellent place. Superb location, you can walk 30 minutes to ALL of the Havana top attractions.

Had a cheese burger, meat was a bit bloody. Take care if you want meat well done.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights at the end of a 2 week stay in Varadero.
The hotel is located on the Parque Central in Old Havana and the location couldn't be better. It's clean and comfortable and the food is excellent. The views from the pool bar at sunset are magnificent and the staff are very friendly.
Try the pizza place directly across the road at the top of Prado for great pizza and cold beer.

Top class Dutch joint venture hotel, with excellent large sound proofed rooms, good restaurants and rooftop pool and well trained staff. Right next to the old town. Excellent for a first few nights' stay after a long flight. My other option was the National at a litle over half the price, which has spacious grounds and more character, but has some doudy rooms and is a taxi ride to the old town.
Good local restaurants were
La Mina: Next to the Museo de Cuidad, Obisco 102. Eat fish and lobster with a cocktail and pudding for £13. Sit either in the lovely courtyard at the back or next to the pedestrian street.
Zaragozana: Near Parque Central and next door to the expensive touristy Floridata Restaurant. Good Spanish food and wine. Fish and prawn paella £10 for two. Sit close to the window as the Spanish dancing is the best we have seen anywhere.

We stayed here for 4 days before moving to Varadero. This hotel is all other reviewers say - number one in Cuba. The customer service is personal, warm and first rate - we needed help with our daughter arriving separately from Mexico and the hotel responded magnificently. We must have had the best view in Havana overlooking Parque Central on the 7th floor . Excellent room.Rooftop area lovely. Breakfasts great and lobby bar (only other food we tried) good and arrived promptly which cannot be said of most meals /drinks ordered in Cuba. (We ate at other restaurants eg Roof Garden at Hotel Sevilla and Hotel Raquel's , El Jardin del Eden and although the setting/views / ambience were good the food was bad. Dinner at El Patio was better and a stunning setting in Plaza de la Catedral). I suppose if you want a more period feel to your accommodation then other hotels might suit better (as the hotel is modern) but we certainly felt grateful to return to the Parque Central after long days taking in all the city has to offer. And what a city ! We were there when Fidel Castro retired. Just walking round Havana Vieja was amazing (and listen to the band at the Cafe Taberna) .The hotel is not only adjacent to the old city but also only a few minutes walk away from the Capitolio, Museo of the Revolucion, the two main art museums etc . Absolutely the perfect location. Our only minor gripe was that we could not change money with a credit card at the hotel the whole 4 days we were there as the machine was not working .(Note:This meant rather lengthy queuing at Cadecas or Banks - and count the notes they give you . My daughter was short changed at the airport and, if I had not insisted on checking carefully having heard this ,so would I have been at a Cadeca). In summary , great hotel, Havana wonderful to visit for several days and the Cubans warm and friendly despite the undoubted hardships they encounter on a daily basis. (Tour to Pinar del Rio /Vinales worth doing if you have a day to spare whilst in Havana).
