Parque Central Hotel is located in Havana's historic heart and is close to several attractions such as Barrio Chino and the famous Capitolo and the Garcia Lorca Theater.

We arrived on Friday Oct 5 for a 3 night stay and do not regret our choice at all. There were 3 of us, 2 in one room and one in another room, all on the same floor.(rooms 431 and 474). The location cannot be beat.

We were given a room on the 4th floor although we requested a high floor, but on arrival realized that the Hotel was fully booked and busy. We had a nice balcony from which we could look out to great views. The room itself was well furnished and large. Air-conditioning worked well and so did the washroom. Both a shower stall and a bath tub could be found in the bathroom. Since we brought our own toiletries thus did not use the Hotels supplied toiletries.

The breakfast is actually the best in Havana when compared to the other hotels, such as the Nacional, Habana Libre and even the Melia Cohiba (all of which we have stayed at). Nice spread of both western and local dishes, lots of juices, fruits and even champagne.

The rooftop pool had the best views. Just a point to note that the gym needs a water cooler machine. The gym was used by us, it is adequate for the facility, perhaps just need to add a lateral pull machine.

All staff at the hotel was friendly and would greet you as you got into the hotel. Check in and check out was a breeze.

If your holiday standards are high or if you're looking to spoil yourself the NH Parque Central is close to unbeatable.
We look forward to staying at the hotel again in December this year.

This is without doubt an excellent hotel. I would be good in any city, but when you come in from wandering in Havana it is truely an oasis of peace and quite and civilisation.
The food is excellent, the bar and atrium are delightful, and the rooms clean and modern.

An excellent hotel in a city noted for it's hotels being a little below the 'international par'. Location for the old town could not be better, food was good, bar and bars snacks excellent. The rooms were clean and everything worked fine. Perhaps the decor in our room was becoming a little outdated, but not a problem to us.
Havana is different and a fantastic city to visit; see it before capiltalism really gets a grip! (just don't expect every thing to be as you would find in europe/U.S).
A quick tip; be careful with the bank tellers (there is a bank exchange in the hotel, but not run by the hotel). When changing sterling into CUCs a teller tried to give me an exchange for euros!
We combined this hotel with the Melia Cayo Coco; an excellent combination for adults.

My girlfriend and I booked this as part of a twin centre deal with the Blau Varadero via Theholidayplace. 10 nights in the blau and 3 nights in parque central for £860, since you're asking. We did the blau first and were bowled over by the friendlyness of the staff and the quality of the food and then we came to parque central...........

The blau was only meant to be 4* but the food was far better than the parque central. The breakfast in parque central was fine but for other meals i'd recommend heading out - they're loads of better places to eat within a stone's throw of the hotel for a fraction of the price.

Was also disappointed with the hotel staff - they appeared to be a bit snooty and the roof top pool, although great, was full of poseurs. Maybe i'm not used to 5* hotels, though?

We did, however, really enjoy our stay as the location is BRILLIANT for old havana and all of the sights and also quiet on a night. Overall this is a great hotel for exploring Havana but we'd recommend getting out and about.

I should say that some people we met came into our hotel and thought it was a lot better than theirs, though...............so maybe this is the best in havana?

Dear Trip Advisor user and reviewer,

First of all many thanks for taking the time to post your review. I am pleased to learn that you’ve enjoyed your stay with us.

However, much to my surprise it seems you could not appreciate our restaurants. Obviously it is very difficult for me to comment on this, since taste is very personal.

As far as the staff is concerned, I can understand your comment re. the staff being “ a bit snooty” . Indeed if you have just spend 10 days in an all inclusive resort, you might get that impression. Since we are a city hotel and since we do have quite some corporate business, we always train our staff to be polite and friendly, but always to keep their distance between the guests and themselves in order not to invade the privacy of our guests. I know that it is common in the beach resorts, that guests get a lot closer to the staff, if it was only because of the fact that you spent 10 days or 15 days in the same resort. Obviously your contact with the staff and their approach towards you, will be quite different. They will call you by name, etc., something which in our hotel will be out of the question.

You also write:

I should say that some people we met came into our hotel and thought it was a lot better than theirs, though...............so maybe this is the best in havana?

Well, for obvious reasons I can not comment on this. I don’t know if we are the best hotel in Havana, but we do try to be above our competitors. I think it depends much as well on personal taste. However, I think that our current position in Trip Advisor is a reasonable indication of where we are, compared to our competitors.

I trust that with my answer I took away your possible concerns and wanted to thank you once again for posting your review.

Hospitable Regards,
NH Parque Central

We stayed at the NH Parque Central hotel in Havana for the final 3 days of our 2 week holiday to Cuba and compared to the accommodation we had been in, it was like pure luxury! It was a welcome break from the casa particulars (guest houses) and even the all inclusive hotel we had used for the other 11 days of our holiday! We cannot entirely give the hotel credit as it was largely due to the fact we had been missing having the luxury of television for most of our time in Cuba, and of course they had a television in the room! It was also largely due to the fact that Cuba has rubbish food (as anyone who has been will agree I'm sure) and that clearly all the "good" or tasty food has been reserved for international hotels! However, what I will say was that the hotel did have a good standard of cleanliness, customer service and accommodation. The rooms were spacious, the bed was amazing (big and comfortable) and the room was nice and dark in the morning. In the casa particulars we were used to being woken up by light at 5am in the morning, noisy tractors and crowing roosters! The bathroom looked very new and clean and the dressing gowns were a nice bonus. All the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel were there. The only thing I would say, which I didn't bother mentioning whilst there is that the hairdryer was not working in our room, 519.

Breakfast was good and varied, although the dining room in which breakfast was held was a little stuffy. My boyfriend suggested they kept the room hot so that guests wouldn't stay too long and eat too much!

The hotel also has a swimming pool on the roof - I didn't get a chance to use it, but the bar and table area around the pool was a nice place to relax, enjoy the views and a drink of two. The bar food was also of a very high standard.

At the hotel, I used the laundry service twice, and also room service. The laundry service was extremely quick and efficient, but I cannot say the same of the room service. We waited about an hour and a half for a steak sandwich and a lasagne. The estimated wait time was 30 minutes. As we were so tired from being out for the day, we couldn't be be bothered to complain. This is my main complaint from the hotel.

All in all, a very professional and efficient service from all staff and a good standard of accommodation and food. I would recommend this hotel if staying in Havana, and my boyfriend and I would stay there should we ever visit again.

Dear Trip Advisor user and reviewer,

First of all many thanks for taking the time to post your review. I am pleased to learn that you’ve enjoyed your stay with us.

I just wanted to give you some feedback on a couple of minor issues you’ve mentioned in your review:

1. The only thing I would say, which I didn't bother mentioning whilst there is that the hairdryer was not working in our room, 519.

Thanks for mentioning this. Indeed we have had a small hick-up with the hairdryers. Ofcourse no excuse and not of your concern, but we have to import the new hairdryers and that’s quite a hassle here in Cuba. So we are working on this and hope to be able to replace all hairdryers by the end of next month. Having a low occupancy we normally do not assign these rooms. However, and that’s where a mistake was made, if we do have to assign a room with a hairdryer which doesn’t work, you should have been informed upon check-in.

2. Breakfast was good and varied, although the dining room in which breakfast was held was a little stuffy. My boyfriend suggested they kept the room hot so that guests wouldn't stay too long and eat too much!

Indeed since a few months we are facing an issue with airconditioning of the main restaurant. Especially when the outside temperature is high, the airco in our main restaurant has difficulties in coping with the heat. However, we are working on this and this should be solved within a month or so. Oh…and rest assured that the guests can stay as long as they like for breakfast…..No pressure at all.

3. The laundry service was extremely quick and efficient, but I cannot say the same of the room service. This is my main complaint from the hotel.

That’s right. We are very well aware that our room service, logistical wise, is not our strongest department, as also pointed out in previous reviews. It has our attention and we do our utmost to reduce waiting time. Anyhow, thanks for pointing this out.

I trust that at least I have cleared things up a little and would like to to thank you once again for your most positive review.

Hospitable Regards,
NH Parque Central
