The rooms in this hotel are absolutely beautiful, we had two huge double beds in our room, a comfy chair, dining table and two chairs, dressing table/desk, it was so big you could have had a ball in it,
Lovely bathroom with good sized vanity unit with good sized wardrobe opposite it then a good bathroom with large bath and overhead shower, bidet and toilet, pretty swish for a hotel in Cuba, we also had huge patio doors that opened out onto a French varanda but as we were on the 15th floor that was as much as a balcony as I required, not too good with heights, we had brilliant views of Havana city from our room so were able to get even more great photographs.
We decided to have room service as we'd missed lunch and it was still a good few hours to evening meal, we had a burger and chips and I have to say its not something I usually go for but it was absolutely lovely, huge double burger that was made from real beef, lots of salad and cheese with it and chips and for under £10 for the pair of us including room service fee that was really good value I would say.
We did go down for our evening meal to the restaurant but was rather disappointed with the food on offer, the table linen was dirty with wine stains and there were more than a few flies pestering us, the staff were rather surley too but guess they get sick of listening to whinging tourists.
Breakfast was okay but not as nice as the hotels selection we were staying in in Varadero but with so many to feed guess its hard to accommodate all tastes at breakfast time.
The bar was very poor selection wise for drinks and they got several peoples orders wrong and some didn't even get what they had ordered, but a very busy hotel and only two waitresses on so maybe they do need to look at that area of the hotel.
We had a walk round the fruit market that isn't too far from that hotel and that was just amazing, it was wonderful to get in and amongst the true Havana people and get to talk to them and have a laugh, you can find some lovely breads in the market too and its so cheap, the flea market is a good place to look for those trinkets you want to take home as memories or pressies, much cheaper than the little stalls in your hotels in Varadero too and they like you to barter too so go for it big time.
Havana is the most amazing and beautiful city I have ever seen, beautiful buildings and very clean too, no rubbish strewn all over the place and the cars are out of this world, wonderful people though down on Fort Road were the coaches wait to take you back to your hotel there are an awful lot of people asking you for Peso's and your hats or sunglasses, so if you have an spare hats, sunglasses or Pesos then then the people down their will be more than happy to take them off your hands.
