This hotel was our final one which was part of a 14 day tour of Cuba.
We initially were bowled over with our accomodation, a 2 bedroomed apartment overlooking the vast swimming pools this hotel appears to have, however we slowly noticed things once the rose tinted glasses were removed.
1. the large leak in the the bathroom which flooded the floor and was slowly creeping onto the landing. Fixed eventually but we had to ask the receptionist as to how much longer we had to wait for the maintenace man.
2. The bath looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for weeks, leaves in plug hole and in it
3. Shower decided it would only give us a trickle and was it was hit and miss if we got hot water
4. Outside furniture on balcony absolutely filthy, knew there was a reason to take baby wipes on my hols!
5. Could really do with a refit - sorry Cuba
Our impression was that perhaps nobody told the maid service that we would be in that room, as the next day it had been thouroughly swept out and our Towels laid artistically on the bed
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, top tip as you walk in if there are plates there grab one it could be some time before another pile appears!. You can also in the mornings take your breakfast to the Italian restaurant seating area. Coffee was however one of the best we'd had but possibly this was down to the serve yourself coffee machine!
As this hotel is not situated in the centre of Havana you are reliant on either taking the optional tours or catching the free shuttle bus. The shuttle bus however does have some strange return times so you may end up spending £10 on a taxi fare back to the hotel.
We mainly ate our evening meals in the snack bar which is situated outside and served good cocktails so can't comment on the evening meals. We also didn't partake of the evening entertainment which appeared to be a different show each night but this was mainly down to us being in Cuba for 14 days and had seen just about enough of Cuban traditional dance etc!
