I stayed at the Comodoro bungalows in April 2008. The hotel is not too far from the airport, it took about 25min on the bus. The bunglows are pretty big, we were only staying for 2 nights to explore Havana, but we had a large kitchem, living area, and large bathroom.

The food at the hotel was quite reasonable and tasted nice although the selection was rather limited at the times we ate...about 10pm.

The main reason for this review however is to warn people to keep all of their belongings and if possible their cases with them at all times!! Although I was only there for 2 nights, I had all of my English money stolen from my luggage bag which I had left in the locked room. The money went missing between 10am and 3pm, and during this time the room had been cleaned. I do not know if it was the cleaner who stole the money (her name was Gladice, she left a note to say have anice stay ontop of our folded towels), but it happened around the same time she cleaned the room.

I informed the hotel staff the next day when I was leaving, and they said they would call the holiday company and find out what happened...of course this never happened. Our stay with them was finished so it didnt matter anymore.

When we got to our 2nd resort (Varadero) we met two couples who had also stayed at Comodoro bungalows, and had things go missing. One lady had her bikini stolen from her case, although she didnt bother to report it.

Apart from the light fingered people with access to the rooms, the hotel is not too bad, sadly this even spoilt my stay at Comodoro.

Located what i would consider a fair distance outside the sites of Old Havana. There are about 4 return shuttle buses a day but i think the last review was a bit optimistic saying it was only 15 mins..i'd say more 20-25 mins and if you miss or dont want to wait for the bus it'll be a 10 CUC taxi...which can really mount up.
As with last reviewer, we stayed in a bungalow and this definately was the way to go, they were great. The hotel was pretty quiet whilst we were there. Most staff were pleasent but to be honest the staff in the Italian Restaurant looked as if they really couldnt be bothered!
Breakfast was bizarre to say the least..in the week we sayed we had spaghetti and meat balls one morning, beef steaks another morning, chinese chicken the next....very strange indeed!!
Its a nice place but pretty far out in a quiet area but if you want a relaxing place to stay its great but you'll get fed up of the food if you dont want to travel for other food.

Stayed here for the first four nights of a fortnight in Cuba. The room (in a 'bungalow') was clean and spacious with nice views of the pools. Service was friendly although breakfast was just okay. Central Havana is 15 minutes by taxi or shuttle bus so it's well placed for all the sights.
We liked it here so much that we swapped the last night of our holiday for a return trip.

This is a strange hotel when you walk around theres the old resort area on its own beach front but its all been left and is unkept. Then there is the main hotrel which is business like very modern and busy with the the two restaurants. Next there is the large pool complex of bungalows in there amazing setting this is adjacent the main hotel. We were some miles out of the city centre so we used a taxi and then a horse and carriage to see around the city which is beautiful and unique. I would say that Havanna needs some preplanning as you can soon miss sights. We missed the war museum which I'm told is excellently portrayed. One memory of this hotel will be the breakfasts were a shambles not enough crockery and no where to sit after fighting your way throught the buffet offerings. Staff here were not helpful and turned a blind eye when we asked for assistance looked like it was a regular occurance.
