This was our first port of call in Cuba for a 2 week holiday. We stayed in three hotels in Havana and loved the Santa Isabel.
The location is great, right in the old town on a plaza with the sea in sight so it's easy to orientate yourself really quickly.
the best part of the stay was the breakfast which is served a la carte - a true luxury compared to many other places in Cuba and it was a really good standard. Something we only appreciated fully after staying at other places.
The rooms are large and cool. We had a huge balcony overlooking the square which was great for chilling out on with a beer.I was even amazed that the mini bar had items charged at shop prices (eg 1cuc for water) as coming from the UK I'm used to hotels inflating mini bar prices by 10 times.
we had no problems with the staff here, they were all helpful whenever we needed to ask them anything.
