“The Best Food in Havana!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

For us this is the best restaurant in Cuba. Wherever we went, the food was the same and after few days becomes really boring. I had enough of red snapper for the whole year :)

Al Medina was such a surprise. We were so used to getting average/poor food in restaurants, that here, our eyes couldn't believe how beautiful the plate looked like, with so many different tastes in it but incredibly delicious. We went twice and had the same thing, I think it was called chicken platter, 9 CUC.

I understand people complaining about slow service but that's almost everywhere in Cuba, you just learn how to deal with it. I don't like it too, but the food is so good here that Im not gonna complain :) Give them a little reminder once in a while.

I guess the waiters don't speak very much because they don't really know English. One of them plays in the band, they sound very nice. Buy their CD, it's the best CD we bought from Cuba so far.

“Great for variety after a week of bland Cuban food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

Eating here was really enjoyable after finishing a tour of Cuba and eating nothing but fried chicken and rice. Combo plates are excellent value.

“Mezze platters a must!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2011

Great to find somewhere different in Havana, with this Arabian retsaurant, where we ate twice during our stay. The mezza platters (also available in veggie option) were superb, if very different from what you'd get in the uk. The lovely courtyard setting was relaxed, with plants and vines growing around the cobbled centre. There was live music from the waiters on one of our visits, along with a pet rabbit running around! Fantastic seafood too. Menu available in English too. Just don't try the baklava. Their attempt to copy this normally light, sweet dish was an inedible cardboard-like disaster.

“Not good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2011

Unfortunately, I don't have anything good to say about this restaurant. Service was slow and the waiters barely said a word. The food was just average. Try other places before settling on this one.

“one of the better ones”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2010

Not the traditional Lebanese you might be used to, but tasty, filling and freshly cooked. Nice setting with clean glassware and cutlery. Although our waiter was a little dour to begin with (it was a miserable wet night) his service was excellent and he improved - probably as we proved to be quiet, happy diners. The mixed plate was good value and very filling and a nice Spanish wine topped it off. Also very friendly to people with children.
