Arrived 7pm. Shown to a table and offered a drink. Order finally taken 25 minutes later by a waitress who decided to take orders from all 8 tables in our section together, so no orders reached the kitchen until she had been round all the tables. Very inefficient.
At 8pm we asked where our food was (having been there an hour) . 'It's coming. 5 minutes. We're very busy, we only have two waitresses'. 8 minutes later, the first course arrived. Very nice sushimi, which we demolished quite quickly as we were by this time rather hungry.
By 8.20 with no sign of our second course ( we had ordered their quite pricey 5 course special), we resolved to leave. We complained again and the second course arrived at 8.30 but by that time our minds were made up. We paid for what we had eaten and left. The couple on the table next to us had also left after one course.
The place was busy (normally a good sign for a restaurant) and they did only have two waitresses, but that shouldn't have mattered if they had been properly organised. One of the waitresses (the greeter) appeared to do very little apart from deliver drinks, which left just one to take the orders and deliver the food. The sushi chefs seemed to be busy preparing food but took several breaks while we watched.
There was no real apology or attempt to speed up. The food delivering waitress was frequently chatting to customers at the bar rather than servicing the tables. Watching the teriyaki chef do his stuff was entertaining but all in all this was a very irritating experience and really our only disappointing night out on Bonaire.
