“The essence of relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Harbour Village is not your ultra luxury have-it-all type of property, In fact it has a humble cachet to it that only reveals its true nature: laid-back relaxation with attentive staff and great diving facilities, even beach diving. So go of you want to change your mind and discover great underwater worlds, eat well and enjoy life.

This has become one of our favorite luxery diving holiday resorts. Very friendly staff with wonderful accomidations including private balcony and large tub for after dive relaxation. Love the overwater reasturant and Johnny the chef is the best! Hensley and Greg always made us feel at home. We had some great meals of fresh fish including tuna shasimi with all the gourmet extras. The sun and breeze felt so good! Now the diving -- Murial and Mark run a great operation with civilized boat dives at 9AM and 2PM. The reef creatures are abundant and perfect for the 60mm portraits and the 8-15mm wide angle shots. The shore diving is very relaxing at our own pace. What could be better? The fact that Delta runs a Saturday direct flight from Atlanta makes all the difference in the world of traveling. Hate the tiny planes that are never on schedule. HVBR will pick you up at the airport -- Nice touch.
We will be back!

Room Tip: Corner suites with ocean view are the best.

My wife and I returned to Harbour Village because our first visit was our best vacation ever. This visit was even better! With the quality and cleanliness of the rooms, lush grounds, great food, and amazing service, Harbour Village Beach Club is clearly the best resort on the island. After comparing notes with friends and doing some research, it is also clear that Great Adventures Bonaire is the best dive shop on the island. The professional and very knowledgable team at GAB again provided for a wonderfully enjoyable dive experience for my wife and me. We can't wait until our next visit!

This must be as close to paradise as it may be possible to come! Perfect room, gardenlike walkways throughout the whole area, where gardeners were working with a smile on their faces all the time. Absolutely quiet, apart from the beautiful singing of all the exotic birds, the private beach, and I mean private, the restaurant shaped like an old sail ship, where we could enjoy breakfast, lunch and a delicious dinner with the beautiful sunset in the background. We had the beautiful beach almost to ourselves, only shared with some birds, some landcrabs and a couple of lazy Iguanas... Just outside the beach, a few meters down, there were built 15 pyramides of stones, where thousands of colourful fish could be seen when snorkeling. Luckily I had bought a GoPro camera before leaving home! I hope we may come back some day!

Room Tip: The room with view over the marina, is great!

We have stayed here 6 times over the years, and it is always spectacular. Perfectly groomed grounds and beach, gorgeous, roomy suites, and a quiet, private, sandy beach. It's unusual to see more than 8 other people on the beach at any one time. They have a Dive Shop on premises, a good (but expensive) outdoor restaurant, and a spa. Housekeeping is always done before lunch, and supply numerous big beach towels. What a great property!

Room Tip: Splurge and get a suite on the beach side; it's worth it!

A return trip (we've come every year for over ten years) this past August was as always, phenomenal. The "village" is a gem. The accommodations are exquisite and the staff, superior. Upon arrival you are immediately greeted by friendly hotel staff and management. The food at LaBalandra is also exceptional and great care is given by the chef, Johnny, to make certain each dish is artfully prepared. Friendly wait staff make each dining experience, from breakfast to dinner, wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful; open and surrounded by water on three sides, it is shaped like a boat and is the perfect place for a family breakfast or romantic dinner for two. Dining on the beach by light of torches is perfect for special occasions. There is a beautiful and private pool and access to kayaks. DIVING: We are avid divers and enjoy the ease of being able to dive right from the beach. For a great night dive, swim out just past LaBalandra, descend, and cross the channel to reach a truly beautiful reef that parallels the shoreline: Something Special. Great Adventures, the PADI dive shop is terrific. Stocked with everything a diver could want or need, it is managed by husband and wife team, Muriel and Mark. The divemasters and instructors are exceptional and always helpful. They offer diving for children as well. Over the years, I received both my Advanced Diving, Rescue Diving, and First Responder certificates with instructor and divemaster, Chris Ball. She was thorough and she is a consummate professional. As a result, I am more confident as a diver. Our oceanfront suite was the epitome of splendor. The staff makes certain all amenities are provided daily and the rooms are immaculate. We highly recommend Harbour Village for comfort, great dining, and terrific diving. The moment you enter the gates of Harbour Village you realize this is by far, a different boutique hotel...superior in every way. We can't say enough wonderful things about Harbour Village. Susan & Paul Keber

Room Tip: We love the first floor ocean suites for easy access to the dive shop and dock. The marina rooms ar...
