We stayed there for a week, and while it was in a great location, the room itself was less than desirable. There was no air conditioning, except for in the bedroom. You were supposed to leave the front door and sliding door open to get a breeze. However, being that we were on the first floor, I did not feel this was terribly safe. Additionally, there were no screens, so every mosquito in Bonaire was in our room when the doors were open. The bedroom was airconditioned, as previously mentioned. However, the bed itself was actually 2 single beds pushed together. They were not even of equal height! All furniture and bedding was well worn. The bathroom was absolutely the worst. Again, no air conditioning, just a tiny little window above the shower, so the room was often humid and sticky. Additionally, I am using the word 'shower' generously. It was actually a hole in the floor with a shower curtain in front of it. The floor has NO pitch to it, so the bathroom would fill with water after each shower. "Luckily", they gave us a big squeegee to use to push the water down the drain. The bathroom had a constant odor of 'the bay'...yuck! Finally, over all, the place was not very clean. I don't think I ever smelled bleach or pine cleaner after the cleaning crew left. The same spots on the floor that were there when we got there were there when we left. And, the kitchen trash can was gross! There was tons of dried, old food on it, and we never even cooked. I would NOT recommed this place, at least the first floor. I understand that some of the rooms, particularly on the 2nd floor, have 'real' showers, and some even have air conditioning. But, I would be VERY cautious if booking this place, and ask SPECIFIC questions about the room in which you will be staying!! I would never go back because, quite frankly, even though the upper floors were nicer, they still had the same cleaning people cleaning them...
