“Another great vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

3 Years in a row, and have never been disappointed! Highly recommended for a relaxing vacation. Rooms are nice and clean and have all the amenities you need. Full kitchen, quiet air-con and comfortable furniture. Outside is great with fresh water rinse facilities, drying racks for gear, a nice clean pool and BBQ area. Kenny, Margaret & Louise are always friendly and helpful. My personal recommendation is a ground floor unit, with easy access to the pool / BBQ, but that is a personal choice. Car rental is very well arranged, as the truck awaits you at CP. Thanks again, we had another great vacation!

Room Tip: My personal recommendation is a ground floor unit.

Decent accommodation, but I really felt deceived by the TripAdvisor reviews. It is not a resort, it is a motel. There are six rooms that you enter from the gravel parking lot. The “reception” is in a cargo container. There is no common area, restaurant, bar, phone in the room, etc. You’ll spend a lot of time locking and unlocking the gates to the compound. The owners’ home is on the premises, and is bigger than the motel (and blocks the view toward the water). The rooms are clean, but basic. The “kitchen” runs along one wall in your room. The towels are changed and the room is cleaned twice a week. To access the water, you need to use the next-door hotel. Given these lack of amenities, this place would need to be much cheaper than other options to make up for the differences.

That said, the owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Louise, who you’ll connect with online and when you need help, is very much on top of her game. The motel has a nice set up with a local car company, so it is easy to get your rental vehicle. The place is well maintained and the rooms have nice balconies/patios facing onto the pool. The wifi is good.

This is a fine motel, but certainly isn’t the top place to stay in Bonaire, as listed on TripAdvisor.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for staying with us at Coral Paradise Resort.

We were sorry to read that you felt less than happy about our Resort and some of the things you experienced while you were here.
As our feedback shows the large majority of our guest love our small Resort and the services that we provide for them.
Our repeat guest list (some as many as 10 stays) is increasing every year.
You would have been more informed about our Resort had you checked out our website before booking your stay.
We do not claim to have a bar, restaurant, nor do we claim to be located on the water. We do point out on the website that all of this and other activities
are less than a 1 minute walk away from the Resort.
The size of the full kitchen that we offer in the rooms as well as the gravel in the front parking lot you talked about can be seen in photos on our website.
We have photos and description of the rooms and Resort etc..
We did build a new house and new BBQ area for the guests but they do not block the view to the sea as we never had a view to the sea.
What it blocks is a view of some private villas on the Sea, when the new BBQ area is finished being tiled we will have new photos of it on the website as well.
We do have locks on all of the gates. All guests have a key that fits the locks. Expensive dive gear may be drying outside and we make it a lot safer by locking the gates. Most guest thank us for having the locks. Better to be safe than sorry.
>
We hope that despite your disappointments you still had a pleasant stay with us at Coral Paradise Resort and enjoyed your time on Bonaire.

We have made 3 trips to Bonaire and have stayed all 3 times at CPR. It has become a home away from home for us.
Since our last visit, Kenny & Margaret have built themselves a beautiful New Orleans/Caribbean style home on the property. Now that they have vacated their “apartment” that were rooms 1 & 2 of the resort, these rooms have been turned back into guest rooms and we were the 1st guests to stay in newly converted room 1. We were greeted with a bottle of wine to “christen” the new room and a “Welcome Back” sign. They were as entertaining and friendly as always.
The addition of the wetsuit racks and boot trees that Kenny made were GREAT! It was so nice to be able to rinse our gear, hang it and have it dry for the next day of diving. When staying at CPR you have the choice of using either Cpt Don’s or Buddy’s for your diving. I recommend Buddy’s. They offer drive through tank service, free Nitrox and I think their staff is friendlier.
Having a BBQ grill available is another convenience. We purchased some kabobs at the grocery store and basted them with peanut sauce (a local favorite) and was able to have a delicious and inexpensive meal with the comfort of home.
If you do plan on doing some grocery shopping, I recommend the new Van den Tweel Supermarket. It is well stocked with fruits, veggies, meats, dairy and liquor. Just remember to bring a quarter for use of a shopping cart and bring your own bags or be prepared to buy some (only 50 cents each)
If you just need a hand full of things or to restock the fridge with beer there is a smaller grocery store just a minute away from CPR. You could even walk there if you wished. It is the Zhung Kong Supermarket and they even have a restaurant attached with some really good and affordable food.
CPR does not have an ocean view (although you can see a sliver of the water from the balcony of room 1) but they are just steps away from a beautiful wall dive. Put your scuba gear on and walk out the gate and down between villas 5 & 6. It’s then an easy entrance to paradise. The dive starts where Cpt Don’s reef ends and then becomes a wall dive. We even saw a turtle in the shallows there. It also makes a great night dive.
CPR is very clean with housekeeping coming twice weekly. They also provide beach towels and an in-room safe. The kitchen is well stocked with pots & pans, dishes and utensils. The beds aren’t pillow top but they still provide you with a good night’s sleep. If you are expecting a 5 star resort with a concierge and a fancy lobby, you will be disappointed with CPR. But if you want to meet some really special people and be treated as friends and not just paying guests then CPR is for you.
Also be sure to take advantage of the wealth of island information that Kenny, Margaret and Louise can provide about diving locations, restaurants and special places of interest. I like asking Louise questions, even if I already know the answer, just to listen to that wonderful accent of hers.

We spent ten days in Bonaire and stayed the whole time in Coral Paradise. It was in a great location. There was an excellent reef just a little walk away and the distance to Kralendjik was not too long. We didn't do any diving but the reefs nearby were great for snorkeling.

Rum Runners, where we had breakfast every morning, was close by and had a nice sea view. The staff was very friendly and they always had a good selection available.

Our rental car waited us at Coral Paradise when we arrived and it was easy to return on the departure day.

We were happy with our room and especially the kitchen was great for cooking. Kenny, Margaret and Louise really made us feel welcome. They were helpful with choosing good restaurants and other island activities such as bicycle rental, boat trips and kayaking.

All in all we had a great time in Bonaire and Coral Paradise. Ten days were not enough but we will return..

Awesome vacation place! We fell in love with everything about it: its minty green exterior to beautiful, well-maintained grounds with pool, flowers, cleanest rooms, kitchens, balconies.
It is steps away from an awesome reef and other attractions of Bonaire. The owners are very friendly and do their best to make you feel at home.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Coral Paradise. It was quiet, had all the amenities we needed and was in a great location. The house reef was great for diving, and the proximity to Captain Don's was great. The owners and staff were super helpful and welcoming and helped us whenever we had a question or needed anything. This is really a great place to spend a week (or more) on Bonaire. We talked the whole week there about our next visit!

We spent a very pleasant week in Bonaire at the Coral Paradise Resort where a nice small hotel was made into a standout by the owners. Not only did Kenny & Margret provide good advice on island related activities and dining, at one point Margret hoped into our car to be sure we could find the places. The room was nice for a hotel of this size and has two double beds. The hotel provides a local cell phone (we needed to add $5 and it was more than enough for the week), which was a nice and helpful touch. There's a nice covered patio outside each room overlooking the pool that has a pair of lounge chairs and a table with two chairs where we ate breakfast and some lunches. There's a decent gym just 400 meters down the road that accepts visitors for $15/day. Overall, the Coral Paradise Resort a very nice place at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Bring some bug spray.
