When we first arrived at the Happy Holiday Homes we were pleasantly surprised how clean the unit was. It is a very simple place, not terribly elaborate, but It has a great location and is a great place to stay for the travelling diver.....I would definitely stay there again

The rooms are quite adequate, you can close them off to have semi-private bedrooms, but they are just accordian doors. You can arrange to have the kitchen stocked before your arrival with essentials and plenty of Amstel beer (highly recommended). Be sure to clean up after yourself in the kitchen to avoid attracting ants (like we did).

In June it is pretty warm in Bonaire, so be prepared to still be dripping wet after you get out of your lukewarm shower (cold showers are actually nice occasionally).

But if you are going to Bonaire, you're going for the diving anyway, and it's the best beach diving ANYWHERE. Be sure to take the guided "Town Pier" night dive and see real live, wild seahorses!

The hosts of the "hotel" are very nice, if a little brusque, but that is simply the Netherland way. It may be in the Caribbean, but it is definitely still Dutch.

If you rent a car (small truck) make sure you know how to drive a stick... that's all they've got.

Very enjoyable and you can go for a week to 10 days for under $1500 total (including unlimited beach diving)!
