You know Barbados is just most relaxed place we've ever been. This is a dream in real that you live and enjoy every sec, the people are most friendly and hospitable, the the weather can never be bad, you will always find what to do.
The Villas are just great, we stayed at the Seaside Cottage A, it worth the money, it's tide, modern ans stylish, you have all to be on your own on your honeymoon, nevertheless there are still people around ;-))) The owners are very kind and helpful, when you need them.
We rented a soft top Jeep to travel around the island, it's very useful as you can easily travel to swim at any beach depending on weather and your mood.
I would not say we enjoyed eating out much, as we consider it more or less untesty. We used to buy good fresh fish at Ouistin fish market and cook ourselves, that's a real island experience. Surf bar nearby is a pretty cool place. The nearest beach can be a bit wavy from time to time, so there is a Miami (Enterprise) beach 5 mins drive, which is excellent for swimming in any weather conditions.
We had a realy wonderful time, Inchcape was a right choice on 100%

My partner and I stayed at Inchcape Villas in one of the Seaside Cottages for one week in October - it wasn't enough.
Firstly the architecture and grounds are amazing - colonial buildings restored and maintained with love and care.
We had mixed weather in the week we were there - spectacularly hot with no breeze or torrential storms - the villa was cozy in the storms and cool in the heat (we had a large fan). Tea in morning on one of the two private terraces was a real treat and the whole vibe of the villas is really relaxed - you are left to your own devices but help is at hand if you need it.
Lovely as it was, you don't stay in the cottage all day - we chose not to hire a car and made our way to St Lawrence Gap, Bridgetown and Oistins on the local and state buses. Would suggest a car if staying longer to explore the East and North parts of the island.
We shopped locally for groceries - Make sure you do stock up on drinks/foods when you get picked up at the airport - it is self catering but my one tiny criticism would be that there is absolutely nothing in the cottage on arrival - even a small welcome pack of tea or coffee or some fruit would have been a nice gesture after the long journey and would only have cost a few dollars.
The airport pick up service was efficent, friendly and informative.
The South of the island is quieter than the West but I think Inchcape is in a great location - the beach is beautiful and it feels a bit more like the real Barbados, not the shiny 5* resort one.
Eating out - go with Wolfgang’s recommendations - our particular fave was the Surfers Bar (make sure you seek it out - Steve made us feel very welcome) and go to the Gap as well.
I would go back to Inchcape tomorrow if work would allow and I already have my eye on booking Sunrise Cottage next time round!

After searching every internet site for accommodations in Barbados, I finally found the Inchcape Villas in beautiful Silver Sands, Christ Church. Most of the Trip Advisor reviews and photos are relatively accurate for these villas. I would like to stress that a vehicle is absolutely essential if you want to get a true feel for the island and the Bajan culture.

As for the villas, they offer tasteful décor with colonial Caribbean architecture. Inchcape is by far the most impressive moderately prices villas that I saw on my travels in Barbados. Being somewhat secluded, yet in proximity to the hustle and bustle of Oistins, St. Lawrence Gap and Bridgetown makes Inchcape very attractive to couples, families or groups that want all amenities as well as privacy in a laid back setting. The owners and staff are warm and accommodating to any request, they are one of the best resources for first hand island knowledge.

Finally, while in Barbados I was married in a small ceremony on a terrace at Inchcape. The rolling landscape and colonial architecture provided an attractive backdrop to our wedding in paradise. I would definitely recommend this location for any small wedding as it provides an intimate setting for the wedding, honeymoon and get away. Inchcape is incredible on all levels and is ideal for the informed traveler looking for the added touch to their vacation.

We just returned from 3 weeks at Inchcape Seaside Villas. It was an absolute dream. We had the pleasure of staying in both a 1 bedroom apartment and the Seaside Cottage. Both had their own unique attibutes. The cottage was great because we also had a maid and cook, so we were able to enjoy some real "Bajan" home cooking. We had our dinners overlooking the crashing waves. It was unbelieveable! The location of Inchcape was also perfect. We were in walking distance to the wind surfing station which also had surfing, kite surfing, and stand up paddle equipment. Just take a look at some of our pictures, and they speak for themselves!

We were also extremely impressed about Barbados and the people. The food was wonderful, and the grocery stores have everything you need. Another important aspect for us was that we could find great wine!

The people are extremely friendly, and they are happy to have tourists there. We always felt very safe, which is definitley important on vacation.

Brought my girlfriend down to propose to her. We had a little villa, not seaside, but very close. Had an excellent patio, which you could hear the sea from, and was beautiful to relax on. The villa was a little warm staying in at very first, but being Canadians, all of Barbados was warm to us! Once we acclimated, it was perfect. There a resort next door which you can shop at for groceries and pay a small fee to use their pool.

The whole feel of Inchcape Villas was unbelievable. Very relaxing and quiet. Great for couples or families who want to get away. Wolfgang was a fantastic host, and our housekeeper was top notch. The beach is not a calm one, but good for walks along it, and great for windsurfers. However, just 5 minute drive away, is a fantastic swimming/sunning beach, called Miami beach.

Our villa had EVERYTHING provided for cooking (pots, blenders, dishes, etc.). And even a little stereo which you can hook your ipod up to!

Inchcape has a brochure which recommends sights and tours around Barbados, and have contacts for anything your might need (car rentals, etc., and all can be brought right to your door).

Needless to say she said yes!
