We booked this trip to meet up with friends from the UK and as such we were the only Americans booked into the hotel so our point of view may be a bit different from the majority of those there. We were there when the lady had a problem with the air conditioning and can understand that she was frustrated with this and it must have affected her overall attitude towards the hotel. We found the hotel to be wonderful, the room was clean, the views were fantastic and the food was very good especially the dinners over at the Pirates Cove part of the hotel. Breakfast was very good, the omlettes were made on the spot as you requested them and there was always plenty of fresh fruit. Lunches were good, there was alot of chicken and fish, and I found the steamed vegtables to be very good (alot of local spices and I like hot spices). The bar made great drinks and I have to say that I found the local beer (Bank's) to be very good. The beach was very clean and just steps away from the patio where the bar and dining area was located while there were locals wandering the beach (beaches are public and there is no restrictions to who may be on them) trying to sell everything from Aloe Vera to hand drawn likenesses a polite "no" seemed to be all that was needed. A small number of local craftsmen were allowed in each day/evening so you could "shop" without leaving the hotel or there were shops just up the road. We attended the local church (Anglican) that is just 10 minues away and were warmly welcomed. We were there during the 20/20 Cricket matches and the banter between the staff and the guest over the upcoming England/West Indies match (the West Indies won) was great fun, and by the end of the trip I knew more about Cricket than I ever thought I would. We had a great time, the guests were very friendly to us and in good spirits mostly due to the great care the hotel staff that was treating them. I would love to have the opportunity to stay there again.
