“The perfect holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

This is the first review we have written but we were so impressed by the whole team at little arches we just had to let any potential visitors know of our experience and stay with our new family at little arches?

We have recently returned from little arches after three years of trying to book this very popular boutique hotel and I can honestly say it was worth the wait? We wanted to explore the island and mingle with the people whilst still enjoying some comfort and luxury of a classy hotel not stay in an all-inclusive (could be anywhere in the world ) resort and we got all that and more.

when we arrived the welcome was warm and sincere and a cool fruit cocktail accepted even though the taxi ride wasn't even 15 mins from the airport so unlike after most transfers we were not hot and bothered on arrival.

We got to know the general manager Sandra and her reception staff,Emma,Tara, cherries, nadia all very well and they helped to make our holiday with restaurant reservations and golf tee times to car hire and other helpful local knowledge and literally nothing was too much trouble and they even arranged a night in the hot tub when room 8 was vacant because my wife loved our room 6 by the pool and did not want to move into the other room so they decided to set everything up with cheese and wine in the hot tub (not many hotels would do this with out a charge) hence just one reason this hotel gets great reviews for the excellent service.

We also got to know the other staff and found them all to be very professional and happy at work from the waitering staff in the cafe Luna and housekeeping to the maintenance staff who kindly take the beds to the beach for you.

The other guests at little arches also made our holiday and these were Arthur Earl (Canada) Nadine & Peter(Belguim) Steve & Sue(up minister) Chris & Jill (Newcastle) Nick & Nicky (Brighton) and others that we meet at the welcome parties that Sandra hosts on weds evening to break the ice and just before we left we meet two lovely couples from new jersey shame we did not have long enough to get to socialize with them more but shared dining experiences and car hire and places to see on the island tips.

So all in all we had a great time in Barbados from exploring the island to laying on Miami beach and around the pool and my favourite time was 4pm when it was happy hour and time for cocktails.

For anyone looking to visit Barbados we would recommend a visit to the Harrison caves, Bathsheba, botanic gardens, a drive along the west coast past sandy lane and Royal Westmoreland and up to the highland point to view the east coast and many other little places you can even get lost and the Bajans will help you they are so friendly and welcoming.

For dining we tried oistins over the bank holiday at the fish fry all the outlets smelt good and we loved the surfers cave and the surfers bay where the chef at cafe luna (Moo) plays with his band on sunday night well worth going to hear and champers in rockley is good for formal dining but mostly we preferred to be more informal and in oistins.

Just ask the girls at reception they will help you choose and a finally a big special mention to my email buddy Cherrise for every thing and making our stay special we love you lots ,so a big thank you to Sandra and her team at little arches for making our Barbados holiday number one previously it was the Maldives and Cuba but they have lifted Barbados to the top thank you all.

So in summary if you don't like all inclusive resorts and want to see Barbados and meet the people then there is not a better hotel or location than oistins and little arches to do this from.

The owners introduced herself in the cafe Luna on our last night and we cannot state enough how highly we regard all the staff that work for them,, they truly are a great team and what a lovely little hotel that little arches is, very quiet and individual place unlike all the corporate hotels please keep up the good work as there are many more people like us out there ready to experience this beautiful island and beach at Christchurch.

We will return and we did not just meet people at little arches we meet up with a lovely couple Billy and Sandra from (Ellesmere port) who were stay in St Lawrence gap and we bumped into in them in the green and white absolut bar and spent more evenings dining with them during our stay, and a big thank you to them from Angela for her birthday present and we will keep in contact for sure.

Thank you everybody Tim and Angela

We chose Little Arches based on TripAdviser reviews (few dissenters from its excellence), location relatively expedient to airport and Bridgetown), and its beach (Enterprise, aka Miami, which is one of the nicest and most swimable on the island). We were not disappointed and had no regrets. Our room (#10) was comfortable and remote from Cafe Luna, the "public" restaurant upstairs, and the pool deck, which provided us more privacy than some of the other nine rooms; the configuration of some of these also seemed less ideal than ours. We enjoyed the private hot tub, kitchenette, and ample bathroom, albeit without a tub. Small inconveniences, e.g. we could not seem to connect to WiFi in our room or from our deck were picayune and SO VERY MUCH COMPENSATED FOR BY THE EXTRAORDINARILY ATTENTIVE STAFF ABOUT WHOM THERE CAN BE NO EXAGGERATION! Directions, reservations, recommendations, check-in, check-out - all were executed efficiently, cordially, accurately, readily. Cafe Luna for dinner was pleasant, although typical of fine dining in Barbados, expensive. (What I'm sure was an "off day," on which service at our intended breakfast there was very slow, caused us to choose to eat elsewhere before our day's adventures). The short walk to the "center" of Oistins gave us easy access to the supermarket and to other great dining venues, as well as to a gas station and bank. I would enthusiastically recommend, and definitely return to Little Arches

Room Tip: # 10 afforded total privacy and isolation from restaurant and pool noise that some of the others may...

We just returned a week ago from our trip to Barbados (March 23-30). This was our second time to the island and we fell in love with it even more after our stay at Little Arches. I'm finding it difficult to even know where to begin my review, so I guess I will start from our arrival. Upon our arrival from the airport (a 10 min taxi ride), we were greeted in the parking lot by Sandra who said," You must be Kim and John." She immediately told us to leave our bags and began our tour through the small, intimate hotel. Our first stop was upstairs to Cafe Luna where Shane handed us our first rum drink (not rum punch, but a delicious frozen concoction). Shane, by the way, is a great guy and bartender! He also makes a mean rum punch! After the tour, we were taken to our room (#7) directly by the pool. The room was amazing! It was big and spacious and comfortable. The fact that we could walk right outside our doors and sit on the lounger or be at the pool was awesome. We loved that room! If I had to complain, we did hear occasional noise from Cafe Luna at night. We would hear if people dropped things, but it was not a big deal and it was not a nuisance. The staff at Cafe Luna are outstanding...from Sandra, Cherrise, Tara, Nadia, Shane, Mona, to the lovely man who will take your beach chairs down to the beach for you every day. We left there and felt like we had a family to return to when we visit again. We miss them all so much already!

Little Arches is in a fabulous location. It is a stone's throw from Miami (Enterprise) Beach, which is a fantastic beach with rolling waves, pink sand and trees for shade should you need it. You have to visit Mr. Delicious food truck and have a Roti. It is delicious and makes a great snack or lunch. You can also walk into Oistins within 10 minutes and what a treat that was! Not only is is convienient for Friday night's fish fry, but we ate there at least 2 other times during the week. You can visit any one of the vendors, but we found Uncle George's and Pat's Place to be the best. You can enough for two people to eat for about $15 US. A little further down the road is the grocery store where you can buy beer, liquor and anything else you would need. We bought juices and mixers for our liquor and small snacks for our room. Just past the grocery store is a small restaurant called Surfer's Cafe. What a find that was too! On Sunday nights you can get two delicious fish tacos and a Corona or glass of wine for about $20 US. They have some live music too. Try to get a seat right out on the ocean. Another great thing about the location is the access to the bus system. We took the #11 bus into Bridgetown. Everyone should try this on their visit to Barbados. One of the reasons we love Barbados so much is because of the people. We have never encountered nicer people on any island or any trip or anywhere for that matter. They pack that #11 bus and "fly" to your destination. It is so fun to be with the locals and chat with them. All that for $2 US!

Eating--Barbados is full of amazing places to eat. This time we tried Champers and had a seat right out on the ocean. The food and atmosphere were fabulous. My husband tried the Barracuda and he said it was one of the best things he has ever tasted. I had the cajun mahi mahi, it was equally delicious. Cafe Luna also has wonderful food. Breakfast is included in a stay of 7 days or more at Little Arches and is not open to the public. I had the same breakfast every day (the Power Breakfast) and I loved it. My husband tried all kinds of things and they were all good. We ate dinner there on our first night and it was yummy. We also LOVED Moo's sushi night on Thursday night. Best sushi I've ever had in my life. So fresh and good!

Excursions..we didn't do an island tour this time since we did that last time, but Andrew (a driver) can give you a great tour of the island. We also always do Cool Runnings catamaran lunch cruise and swim with the sea turtles. Cool Runnings is a lot of fun! This time we did the Mt. Gay Rum cocktail tour which was so much fun!

On our last full day there, we got a couples massage. It was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep!

I could go on and on for days about Barbados and Little Arches. Our first trip to Barbados was spent at a much bigger resort and in a more remote location. We will never (unless we one day decide to bring our kids) go anywhere else. That is unless the staff get relocated to some other hotel on the island. The hotel and its ammenities are beautiful, but the staff and intimate and personal treatment are what make Little Arches like no other. I cannot say enough, in fact, I have to stop talking about it because it makes me sad that I'm not still there. We cannot wait to return to our beloved island and see our friends at Little Arches again!

I loved every minute of my stay at Little Arches. I didn't even want to leave! It is a quaint boutique hotel with friendly and efficient staff, beautifully decorated rooms, and it is situated a stone's throw away from the picturesque "Miami" beach. Loved the beds-so comfortable! If you're having a lazy day, order room service from the roof-top restaurant Cafe Luna but also, make sure to have dinner there on a Thursday or Friday evening to take advantage of Sushi night! I definitely would stay at Little Arches again :)

Stayed at Little Arches in June for my birthday and everything was perfect. Great service, a fab spot for complete relaxation and zen. Did a lot of day trips, hired a driver and he was our tour guide for two days...a change and a welcome one from the usual all inclusive. The open - air restaurant for breakfast or late at night under the stars was also just lovely. A short walk to beach or a drive to wherever you wanted to go. We did a private catamaran tour, swam with turtles, snorkelled around a wreck - was a beautiful trip, with fabulous service. Spent a day at the Crane - nice beach, beautiful resort. Basically did the entire island, all the highlights. Can't wait to go back VERY soon. Great service, private...again was very very pleased to find this fabulous boutique hotel. LOVED it
