Just returned from an enjoyable two week stay at this hotel. Stayed in a one bedroom appartment, which was very well appointed and had all the bits and pieces we needed. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard.

The view of the sea from the balcony was fantastic and we could see turtles on one day. Breakfast on our balcony was the highlight of each day.

All the reception staff and Reggie were friendly and helpfull.

As we had a one bedroom appartment the traffic noise was not a problem, once the bathroom door was shut you couldn't hear anything from the road.

The problem we fould was the noise of the waves. Although it didn't appear to bother any other quests. A sea view appartment sounded like a good idea, but we found it impossible to sleep without ear plugs.

There was a storm last week which has sadly done serious damage to the beach, exposing a huge amount of coral. When we left on 23 March the waves were still doing some damage.

Service in the bar/restaurant was not that good, but there are plently of other bars/restaurants close to the hotel. There are also a couple of good supermarkets.

Thank God!!!!!! Coral Mist was exactly what we wanted..A Good, Clean self catering Hotel on a beach in Barbados...Does exactly what is says on the Tin! No frills, No tartiness, No problem! Kitchen was small...
limited prep. space but the benefit of an oven as well as the other equipment. Studio Room was spacious if the need to swing a cat was surpressed! 2 adults..no problem but they say u can have a put- up bed
for another..No space IMHO. Our room was noisy - road oneside, noisy surf type stuff on the other...Rum or Banks- "No problem"!! Great holiday..Booked again for this summer

After extensive research into Barbados hotels we used Trip Advisor as a great source of information. This hotel has a huge percentage of returning guests and only 32 all oceanfront suites. We met many who have been staying at Coral Mist or its twin property Blue Orchids for years. We saw people booking for February 2009 as they left for home in February 2008. The bottom line is “book early”.

The receptionist made us feel as though we were long lost family members. While signing in, Reggie, the activities director, took our bags to our room. They also supply complimentary safety deposit boxes at the reception.

We had a ground floor one-bedroom suite that consisted of a large full kitchen, very large dining/living room with a work desk, and a large bedroom with a bathroom that had a shower only. The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator, cook-top, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, plus chine and cookware. Each suite faces the ocean and has a balcony or patio. We had a beachfront patio with table and chairs where we had our breakfast and afternoon drinks.

There is a fresh water pool, lots of chairs and beach umbrellas. The beach is relatively narrow but not crowded and very clean. During our stay there was a strong wind and heavy seas that made swimming rather a chore. Within a three minute walk lays Rockley beach also known as Accra beach. It is longer and better protected from the elements thus we walked over there for swimming and snorkelling.

Coral Mist Hotel is a gem of a small hotel on a quiet and beautiful beach. The staff has a positive attitude and serve true Bajan hospitality. We would recommend this hotel to our friends. Early booking is required.

Lovely studio facing the ocean, a few steps onto the beach. Very clean and all in working order. Ample equipment in the kitchen. Sunbeds with mattresses and optional parasols readily available on the beach at no extra charge. Beach towels from reception.
Some noise from the lift, the corridor linking the back of the studios and the main road, but the sea at the front more than compensated in our opinion.
Our last trip was to the Signature at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas in November and I frequently stay in Hiltons, Sheratons and Marriotts for work so our expectations are high. We enjoyed our stay at the Coral Mist.

    • Liked — being so close to the sea and the beach
