“Great, reasonably priced hotel”

Coconut Court Beach Resort

Mar 30, 2008
6/6 found this review helpful

Coconut Court is a mellow, pleasant beachside hotel. It appeared that all rooms have a beach/water view with a porch to enjoy. Nice pool/jacuzzi area. Plenty of beach lounge chairs and, if you want shade, it is available. Nice sandy beach, but in the water it is a bit rocky. I recommend water shoes or sandals. Snorkeling gear is available.
Nice beach bar and another bar is part of the open air restaurant. Two drinks for price of one at happy hour. Check the times.
It is convenient and pleasant to eat breakfast at the restaurant, but our room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. A nearby "convenience store" had some supplies and more extensive supplies are probably available elsewhere. You could probably manage some in-room meals if you work at it.
Our room was not fancy but was large and pleasant; bathroom was adequate with a shower stall. A hairdryer is provided.
We were there on a Friday night (then went on a cruise) and returned the next week for Sat-Sun-Mon nights.
I disagree with the Hocking review as we experienced no problem with any noise or loud residents. Maybe there are specific weeks which should be avoided. We seemed to have a predominantly adult group at the hotel. Very few children, and almost no one seemed to be college age or twenty-something.
We had a lunch at Mama Mia's across the street and it was very good. The bar across the street (? Woodpecker, I think) apparently can be noisy on Friday nights, but quiet the rest of the time. We did dinner there on a Monday night with excellent food. The dining area is on the other side of the bar and was more sophisticated than I expected.
I don't think there are any other accommodations in this price range that offer such nice water views from every room and an extensive beach for relaxation in sun or shade.
Based on reviews read here, we did Ted's Tour and had a wonderful time. It was basically all day, including a nice lunch and very reasonably priced. It happens Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Just sign up at the desk.
We might have preferred to be walking distance to Oistins, the Gap or Bridgetown, but the buses come by regularly.
Coconut Court is a very pleasant place to stay. It is an older facility but most things have been upgraded. We had dinner at the hotel twice. Decent menu, but I think it was too limited for doing an all-inclusive plan for a week. (Personal preference.)
If you are trying to do Barbados at a fairly reasonable price, you would have a hard time finding a better deal than the Coconut Court. We expect to return.

“Great Experience!”

Coconut Court Beach Resort

Greetings:
My wife and I were at Coconut Court Beach Hotel in November 2007and positively love the Hotel, beach and staff at your facility. We were so impressed, we returned 3 1/2 months later again in March 2008 for 9 days and re-experienced the wonderful hotel and beach. The courtesy, warmth, and professionalism of the staff is remarkable! We felt important as individuals, and not just a number on the hotel register.
The restaurant, bar, and beach bar is a perfect setting on the beach. Our room was perfect, as all rooms in the hotel face the wonderful Caribbean Sea. What a fantastic way to be greeted in the morning with the oceanview.
We especially enjoyed the breakfast and lunch at the hotel, not wasting any time away from the beach.
The office/concierge staff was always ready to help in making reservations to the fine restaurants, and scheduling any activity you want to participate in.
We have booked for November 2008 to return again to CCBH !!
There was only one restaurant that we had a bad experience at. A restaurant which is a stone's throw away from CCBH,
at the Amaryllis Hotel in the restaurant there known as "39 Steps." Now mind you, we had been in this restaurant several times previously in November 2007(at one of our visits to Barbados) and the food and service was "good." But on
this particular occasion, we were sat after making reservations,
and waited for 20 minutes before we were even asked if we wanted a cocktail. Then another 10-15 minutes before they even took our order. We decided to get the main course and the check simultaneously.. or we would probably still be there!!!
Again, everybody is entitled to a" bad hair day," and certainly restaurants are entitled to a bad day as well. So take it with a "grain of salt."

With warm regards,

“Great, peaceful time at Coconut Court”

I just read the review stating that "YOBs" were yelling across the balconies and that this place is only for young singles...etc. I completely disagree. Just spent 8 days there and the resort was incredibly quiet and peaceful. There is some fun entertainment, steel island band, Caribbean BBQ night...etc. But past 10:30 pm.
the place was so peaceful that my fiancee and I would whisper on our balcony and actually went out to the deck one night to check out the insect which was making so much noise in the plam trees and beach mangroves. The staff is more than excellent and the Concierge, Sarah, is genuine and very knowledgable. Super reasonable rates with an incredible beach, great rooms and staff...
Maybe, if you decide to go during peak college spring break season or if you happen upon a week with rowdy guests you may have a noisy experience. We did not have that experience at all and would go back in an instant. BTW: buy fish food at the beach bar and snorkle out to the rocks. Bring some zip lock sandwich bags to carry the fish food. The water is shallow enough that you can get out some food and re seal the bag comfortably. 100s of beautiful fish, Almost no sea urchins. Look behind the far right out cropping of stones and a large flat fish lives between the stone and wall. Look carefully and you'll see some pretty great aquatic life all within snorkling distance.

“Quality and value”

Coconut Court Beach Resort

Feb 26, 2008

There is a wide range of hotels in barbados. We do not like marble and glitz. This is an excellent value hotel with good quality accommodation. Good bar, restaurant and pool area. The staff are some of the best we have encountered and very friendly. The beach location is superb with great facilities and really safe for kids, nice little bar and no shortage of sunlounges.
location is good for Bridgetown and forays to the West coast beyond. We will definitely stay there again.

we just got back from 11 nights in barbados, this hotel was our last stay as we travelled the west coast staying for 4 or 5 nights in some beautifull hotels so we spent our last two at the coconut court,we looked in the yellow pages and the picture of the hotel looked amazing,so we rang and booked.
well it was nothing like the photo, realy old and run down, lovely staff and super beach, but the hotel looks like one of those old 60s chalet lines !!plus it was full of yobs shouting across the balconeys etc well i suppose as its cheap what do you expect.
so for two days we coped, stayed on the beach all day and ate in our fav resturant Aqua,so if your in your 20s with friends then its for you.
