Spent the week of May 3-10, 2008 at the Divi Southwinds. Acquired the week through a timeshare exchange. The property is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Our unit was clean, well equipped and attractively furnished. It was a one bedroom unit with a full kitchen, breakfast bar, living room which has a couch with a foldout bed, two very spacios closets and a large vanity area separate from the bath. The unit has a television in both the bedroom and living room with very limited cable TV. Our unit overlooked the larger of the three pools and the restaurant. The beach was a short walk across the road through St Lawrence Gap though a soon to be demolished and unused beachfront unit of the hotel to the hotel's beachfront bar. Loungers and umbrellas are available at the bar area at no charge except for a gratuity to Elvis, the attendant. Various activites are available at the hotel including beach volleyball, miniature golf and tennis. Barbados' famous green monkeys visit the tennis court area at approximately 4 pm daily and are fun to watch. The resident rooster struts around like he owns the property and provides the occasional morning wakeup call, but not somthing that can't be ignored. The hotel personnel were friendly and helpful to a person. We highly recommend this resort and would return anytime.

To all, I am Katrina Geetooah; Miss CARICOM International 2007. For my very first stay in Barbados which ended on the 6th May 2008, i could not ask for a better place to call home, Divi South Wind Hotel is truly a magnificient resort. Absolutely beautiful, equipted with almost anything you can think about and if not it was just a walk away. Service in quantity and most of all quality. Very fun hotel with daily activities for its guest to get involved. From breakfast overlooking the pool area to lunch on the beach where crystal blue waters and beautiful white sand was the scenery. From a well equipted gym, mini golf course, basket ball court, tennis court and even a special area to play a game of darts was included. They truly thought of everything some one on vacation may think about. Best of all the night life of Barbados, which I learned and had first hand experience, was in the GAP, which is just a walk away from the hotel. Regardless of all its incredible acessibility to all you may think about, my room alone was good enough for me. Extremely comfortable and well equipt with home appliances. If given the opportunity, i may have spent the entire week in my room.
Special thanks to all of the staff who made me feel most at home. It is because of you, my first visit to Barbados will never be forgotten.

Just arrived back from our stay at divi, although not the height of luxury we thought that was part of it's charm. If also you like the flexibility of having bars and restaurants at your doorstep without having to hear it at your doorstep, divi is perfectly located in the middle of "the gap".
The activities centre was well equiped for all sorts of sports within the resort, tennis, basketball, boogie boards, volleyball etc...and apart from the Mini Golf use of equipment was free and the staff were great help...Brilliant for keeping the kids amused.
We ate twice at the Bajan Breeze Rest. and both occasions were pleasurable...the ribs on bbq night was delish.
Beach was generally clean, loungers comfy n lots of palm trees to seek shade in.
Activities and staff makes this resort above average on rating... would we go back again?...SURE

recently spent two weeks at Divi Southwinds. Had a problem with our roon as we were on the ground floor and discovered that the balcony doors had no lock. We were offered a move next day but as we had unpacked we asked for the lock to be fixed which it was (after a fashion) but we were happy and felt secure. Housekeeping was excellent, daily room cleaning lost an earing under the bed and found it to be very clean under there!. Cannot comment on the restaurant as we breakfasted in the apartment and ate out all other times. Had rotis from leroys van at the back gate a couple of times and enjoyed rum punch on the beach at happy hour. Beach was lovely, plenty of loungers towels available from the pool area. Pool disappointing, closed for renovation last few days we were there, they advertise 3 pools but one is timeshare members only and one is a very small one near the beach. All in all a great place to stay and would go back again

Hi all,

My wife and I recently spent a week at the Divi Southwinds Resort in Barbados.

I've read some bad reviews of this hotel on this website and they are not accurate. Our room was comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped. The beach was gorgeous the staff friendly and helpful.
We fully recommend this resort to anyone.

P.S. Visit the Sweet Potatoes restaurant, located within the St Lawrence Gap and try the jerk pork it was delicious.
