Yellow Bird Hotel

Location is fabulous, everything is walkable, safe and easy access to the ZR (local transportation, and in my opinion, the only way to fly in Barbados)...staff at the Yellow Bird was friendly, and accomodating, very helpful, which I find most of the people are in Barbados...excellent view of the sunset over the bay as you can tell from the photos, small beach in front of the hotel, but other beaches just a jaunt up the road...rooms are clean and comfortable.(can be a bit noisy if you sleep with your patio doors open) you are in the HUB remember...may I add, the BEST margarittas that I had on the island!
For me personally, it is not so much about where I lay my head, as it is about the whole experience...people, food, music, atmosphere and how one is treated...you know ...respect! and may I say MUTUAL respect. The staff here is very happy to do whatever they can to make your stay in Barbados a holiday with wonderful memories...which I have, in part due to them, and the easy going flow at the Yellow Bird...wish I was back on bados time...*sigh*

“Good price and location in The Gap”

I just got back from traveling to Barbados, St.Vincent and Bequia.
I spent a Saturday night here with my husband. We actually booked thru the helpful tourist help desk in the airport about an hr. before our arrival at the hotel. We were warned that it could be very noisy, and the front desk checking us in took us to our room which was located on the first floor. The woman showed us the room but she made a point of saying it could get very noisy during the night....we were pretty tired from traveling so we figured we would have dinner in The Gap area and fall asleep.......so was the plan. We really enjoyed the view from our room and we could walk right out to the pool and lounge chairs...a beach area is across from this hotel but there are other nicer beaches in walking distance too...we walked around the area, had dinner Mexican place...and then stopped at another resturant later for something else....finially decided to head back and get some sleep....well, it was noisy, the club was right next door to our wall, we felt like we were THERE at the club, and it went on thru the night with music pretty loud....but, it is The Gap...so, we spent a night of "sort of sleep" and decided the next morning to spend our last night in Barbados somewhere else. The internet cafe is across from the Divi Resort so we went down there and I booked on Expedia at the Silver Point Villa Hotel in
Christ Church. (you can read my review of that property also on TripAdvisor). We'd recommend The Yellow Bird if you are using it to be a place to stay while visiting The Gap area...the staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and adequate.

We stayed in this hotel for two weeks and although we where a little aprehensive having read the reviews about noise, although it is a little annoying it did not spoil our sleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was wonderfull.

The accomodation was basic but cleaned every day with fresh towels and every member of the staff went out of their way to help.

We cannot praise the staff high enough and cannot wait to return, so if you want a room book early.

My stay at the yellow bird hotel was lovely. The staff was very helpful and are all very friendly. The noise that everyone talked about was not a bother to me. when i was in my room i could hardly hear it. it does go till way in the morning though. I guess thats what happens when you are in the middle of the entertainment district. If you are sensitive to noise do not stay anywhere in the Gap. If noise doesn,t bother you then here is a great place. Yellow Bird is close to so many things. i just walked up to the road and got a route taxi to go into town. (taking a route is so much cheaper than chartering a taxi.)

The rooms here are lovely and are all equipped with a refrigerator stove, ac. (all the usual amenities). there is a pool and there are beaches within walking distance. the view from the room was lovely. i think all rooms have a balcony.
I enjoyed the stay here and i would recommend it to everyone

“Amazing stay at the Yellow Bird!!”

Yellow Bird Hotel

Jan 22, 2008

I went to the Yellow Bird at the begining of November 2007 with my two girlfriends, we found the service to be excellent before we even left since all our queries were answered by the lovely Geeta via email.
We found all the staff to be polite and friendly, especially Roddrick and the girls in the bar! We organised all of our trips through the reception desk and the girls there were great and helped us a lot in picking which trips to go on.
The room was a good size, it's not 5* accomodation but had everything we needed and was cleaned to a good standard daily. It was worth staying there for the view alone, which was amazing to wake up to every morning!
The hotel is right at the start of the Gap and there are plenty of nightlife/restaurants nearby. Jumbies next door to the hotel became a favourite of ours! We only really noticed the noise from this bar on our first night but this would not stop me from booking again.
We had the best holiday ever and are already looking forward to going back this November. A big thank you to Geeta and everyone at the Yellow Bird! xxxx
